My current fitness habits and nutrition habits are pretty bad. I would be the first to admit that a change is something that I desperately need. I would have to say that my fitness habits are worse than my nutrition. I have a gym membership, that I never use. My excuse has been my kids, not wanting to use the daycare facility. In the past, they would come home sick because of it. Now, I still use it as my excuse. The problem is not that I do not like to workout, I do enjoy it once I start. The problem is getting there to the gym and getting the initial jump off to make it a habit. I was once told that it takes about 30 days to make something into a habit, perhaps if I started going to the gym for 30 days it shall become habit too.
Growing up my parents hated going out to eat. My mother cooked dinner just about every night and on very rare occasions would we either order out or go out to eat. We would sit together as a family every night, every meal would include some type of a vegetable. My mother did not know of any nutritional guideline, it was not something that was common knowledge nor was it something that was pushed from the government by trying to wipe out an epidemic of obesity, it was just something she did because she knew it was good for us. As I grew older the first thing I started to do was eat out more. I loved eating McDonald’s, Burger King, Chili’s or any other restaurant
