2. This document has four different parts to it, and Napoleon Bonaparte wrote them all. This particular document starts with many diary entries wrote by Napoleon and spans from the years 1796-1809. The second part of the document was a lesson that was taught to the children in school in 1806, Napoleon controlled the press and education, and because of that the children had to memorize and recite lessons. The third part of the document was a letter written by Napoleon to the minister of police, Joseph Fouche, discussing his intentions to regulate public opinion. And, the last part was a letter written by Napoleon to his brother, Jerome, talking about his desire for enlightened rules (SWT, 117-121).

I think that Napoleon in a way demonstrated French Revolution ideals. The French Revolution ideals were for equality and rights for the people, but Napoleon took away a many of the rights that people wanted. The people of France were not allowed to gather in groups of people and discuss beliefs that did not follow Napoleons, and he re-established slavery. He also controlled everything that was published and banned some authors from writing or publishing books during his reign.
