Dead Poets Society By Neil And Mr Keating

The risks and rewards to following one’s own path in life is clearly shown in the film, Dead Poets’ Society, by Neil and Mr. Keating. These characters were both rewarded and faced consequences after following their own rules. Neil was rewarded for doing what he loved, which was acting, when he received the main role in the play and made a great performance. By performing in the play, he risked his father being unsupportive of him. Unfortunately, after his performance, his father was infuriated and punished him greatly. This led to Neil's decision to commit suicide. Additionally, Mr. Keating was rewarded for following his own path in life, which was teaching his own beliefs, when his students began looking up to him and enjoying class time.
