The comic book movie, which draws inspiration from a Marvel character, showed its presentation twice in the Comic Con because of the high demand from the attendees. It also garnered positive reviews from industry observers who concluded that Deadpool triumphed over other movies in the Comic Con, according to the Christian Science Monitor.
Deadpool, which is being launched by the 20th Century Fox, tells the story of superhero Wade Wilson who has the ability to heal himself. He is also well-trained in martial and combat arts, the Monitor details.
Ryan Reynolds stars in the film as
Deadpool himself. It is worth noting that he played the same role in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” which was released 2009. However, that movie did not gain good reviews from both fans and critics, the report relays.
Meanwhile, “X-Men: Apocalypse” dazzled the crowd with a lot of star power. However, Deadpool was the one that took home the Comic Con trophy.
Speaking during the Comic Con panel, Reynolds said Deadpool is very unique compared with the other superhero movies. He added that the film will have an R rating.
“I think it’s an absolute miracle that a studio let us make Deadpool, let alone a rated-R Deadpool,” the Monitor quotes Reynolds.
It is very rare for a superhero film to have an R rating, and this is the first time that a Marvel movie got one, said News Daily. Most of the superhero movies usually are rated PG-13. Of course, an R for Deadpool would mean that younger fans will not be able to watch it, thus it runs the risk of having lower earnings, the report suggests.
Still, the fans at the Comic Con seemed eager to watch the invincible vigilante on the big screen. Deadpool will begin screening in February.
