While other people played a part in their deaths, they also were at fault. Although they both were culpable for their death, Romeo and Juliet had different reasons for blame. Romeo was known to be quite hasty. Even in the beginning of Romeo and Juliet’s love story, he was known to be impulsive. He never really thought through his actions. He rushed into getting married, killing Tybalt, and then eventually killing himself. All of these actions were done in the moment and were not given a second chance. Romeo and Juliet could have avoided their sudden death if Romeo had just been more cautious. Juliet on the other hand was too willing. Rather than thinking for herself, she mostly followed other people and their ideas. She dived straight into getting married to Romeo without hesitation. When Romeo ended up killing Tybalt and being banished to Mantua, she then turned around and agreed to Friar Lawrence’s plan of pretending to be dead. The only time where she was anything like Romeo is where she ended her life. Juliet without hesitation killed herself without batting an eyelash. Most things in this story is because of Fate. Romeo didn’t have to go to that party with Benvolio. He could have easily moped around about his recently lost love Rosaline. Even when he went to the party, Romeo and Juliet didn’t have to cross paths. Later on in the story after Romeo had been cast out of Verona, there are more of Fate’s actions that led to their violent end. Friar John was compelled to help a town in need, but this very town had to be cursed with a plague. This plague made it so the letter explaining the situation of Juliet’s “death” never made it to Romeo. The letter could have easily made it to Romeo and the whole story could have had a happy ending, but Fate always has his way. If Romeo had been delayed a few minutes or had continued fighting with Paris outside of Juliet tomb, he would have been met with Juliet alive and well instead of her “perished” body. There are a million of paths that could have led to Romeo and Juliet being alive and well in the end, but Fate gets his
