Debate on Board Exams
Good morning, one and all! Today’s debate is quite interesting, as we are the victims, rather the part of the society who sees it very closely than the rest. Now, frankly speaking, within each one of us, somewhere or the other we feel, very strongly feel , that board exams are a curse or rather some dangerous, ferocious animals. Truly the very spirit of examination aims at something noble, but unfortunately the implementation process is very unrealistic.
The present examination systems, as I said are very unrealistic, and moreover focus on the core subject of ‘Writing based on Memory’; there isn’t any scope for a child to enhance his/her creativity, there is always an obstruction on the out-of-box thinking.
The child along with his parents suffer from acute tension, anxiety and fear during the period of exams, that lead to a very different mental status of a child, and is a symbol that the child is stressed out.
It is not possible, to judge a student’s capacity in a mere 3 hour exam, How can it be possible that a 3 hour exam will foretell a student’s future? And that, this so called board exam be the only parameter to judge a child’s ability. It is really insane to say that, I feel.
And moreover, its pure gambling at times, like it depends on the question, and the child’s preparations that coincide to give a better outcome. Sometimes it does and sometimes not.
Mentioning draw backs of the exams will lead me to write a novel full of reasons.
Present education system encourages cramming, unnecessary expenditure on help books and also encourages private tuition which has resulted in mushrooming of a large number of tuition shops in every city and even small towns by inexperienced tutors, with a lure to make huge turnovers...
Einstein once said and I quote “Every animal has their own talent, but if we judge a fish with its ability to climb tree, It lands to be a failure, always”
This is what, board exam does, It tries to judge the memory power, and the power

The excruciating examination process in which thousands of pressured students who are not fully ready to take an exam, must prove what they have ‘learned’ to aggressive and rapacious examiners, only a minority being selected in the vast marine of shinning students who have just been unchained of the shackles of school work and deadlines? And the rest...? They are left to dry out in the harsh world, to be taunted for doing miserable on that one day, not being given another try. Exams deteriorate us and oppress our very lives making our everyday routine revising and reiterating for an exam that can determine our whole life. The 2 sided pages trap us into our failure, whilst the time ticks at its loudest, making us write nothing but a single letter on a line which finally concludes our end result. Of course if you are to do well, you are fine, but with the ever-changing ruthless mark scheme it’s very difficult to do just well. The pressure put on the fragile mind only gives the tormenter one choice under the stress leading to the examination. To give up! Even the polite and civilised students fall and loose complete confidence in them self’s, feeling like they ruined there only last chance to shine. NO! It’s exhausting having to prepare for an examination when the end result is marked so harshly, it puts the only courage you have down. Masses of tress being removed, the same tress giving us the air we breathe. Papers and papers and pages and pages... all for a single letter on a line, is it truly worth it? Examinations should be banned from the education procedures to avoid any harm it does to the livelihood of a child’s mind.…

Why is an ammeter connected in series and voltmeter in parallel in a circuit? 3. In an experiment the current flowing through a resistor and potential difference across it are measured. The values are given below. Show that these values confirm Ohm’s Law and also find the resistance of the resistor. If we look this issue in the structuralist perspective, whenever students take an exam, especially those difficult ones, there is always a feeling of having butterflies inside the stomach, they feel cold and throbbing. It could also be the place or atmosphere where the students take their examination or maybe for being unprepared for it. Looking at the different factors which have affected the way of thinking the students do, we can see that these factors have triggered the feeling of being afraid in taking exams. Another explanation about the fear of failure in examinations could be the kinds of fear behind the fear in failing, which are the following: fear of abandonment, fear of exposing…
