As I said previously, the defensive line is like the first layer of defense, or the Surface Membrane Barriers, in your Immune System. In the Immune System, the first line of defense consists of skin, hair, mucous membranes, …show more content…
There are a bunch of different types of the same thing, but each have a specific skill set. First, there is the free safety, who floats around and stays in coverage, until he needs to help out with the play. This reminds me of the Helper T-Cell, as he helps out with the play just like the Helper T-Cell helps with fighting non-self substances. Next, there is the strong safety, who always has a specific job, like blitzing on a run play and destroying the running back. This reminds me of the Killer T-Cell, as the Killer T-Cell kills the cells --obviously-- and has a very specific job to do. Next, there is the weak side corner. The weak side corner reminds me of the Memory T-Cell because it memorizes previous illnesses and prepares The Immune System for it again, that way it can kill it quicker next time. The weak side corner observes the plays, and can read the play quicker because he may have seen the same play earlier, and stop it sooner. Finally, there is the Regulatory T-Cell. The Regulatory T-Cell is similar to the strong side corner because they both regulate. The Regulatory T-Cells make sure The Immune System stops attacking cells once the non-self ones are gone, and the strong side corner regulates sweeps from getting outside him so they get stuffed in the middle. And that is all I have for comparing The Immune System to the defensive side of football.
Once again, The Immune System is like football, because it has three lines of defense. These lines all work together for a mutual goal, and try their best to succeed. The best may not happen all the time for each one, but they try their hardest and never quit on the team. Thank you for reading my comparison of football to The Immune System, and I hope this is an easy way to understand
