Life does not have a direct explanation; however, there should be an understanding that life is an experience and having lessons to learn from those experiences. Life is not simple and if it were, it would be very boring. In life everyone has fun, but there are also those not so fun situations, but that is what keeps life interesting. Life likes to throw everyone a bone once in a while, but life also likes to take that bone back and smack you with it. Everyone learns lessons, but those lessons come from experience. Those experiences come from living your life. These experiences and learned lessons can be big or small but the importances of those are that there is a bit of understanding about life. Since humans experience life and learn things for themselves because they are able to go out and do so, but it is not like animals, insects or plants are able to do that. For example, animals cannot just go out driving around, even have a bad day all they really experience is sleeping and eating. Same for insects and plants they cannot exactly have any sort of experience because they cannot talk, comprehend ideas, or feel the emotion. All those traits are traits most humans can do and within those traits they are able to have experiences. For example, humans can talk so they can communicate, humans can understand ideas so they can function, and humans can feel emotion so they can express themselves. This was discussed in Sorting Things Out: Classification and Its Consequences, “Our lives are henged round with systems of classification, limned by standard forms formats, prescriptions and objects” (Bowker, Star, 1). This relates to experiencing life because if we did not have any sort of way of life or anything around us to direct us, we would not experience those aspects of our lives; however, we do have objects and formats that guide us to certain places or things. The experience of life is what leads us to the lessons in life. Experience is an important factor in life, but there is the learning lesson that comes after the experiencing.
Once someone has an event of some sort; for example, being in a horrible relationship after that relationship is over, you have learned that you most likely never want to be in a situation like that again. Another learning lesson; meeting someone for the first time and wanting to make a good first impression, maybe you say something inappropriate or do anything strange, after you meet that person you learned that you will never say or do something like that again because it was not a good first impression. Both of these examples are part of life and most humans have gone through these two things. When you learn something you keep that “thing” in the back of your mind until a situation similar pops up then you use it. A lesson is like a resource; you use it when you need it, you back it up with evidence, and you never forget it. This was discussed in, This I believe: Life Lessons, “A life lesson is one of those defining moments– a moment that teaches us that we remember and carry forward” (Gediman, John, 2). This relates to the argument of life being about lesson learning because if we did not have these defining moments there would be no point to anything. Meaning if we did not experience and learn something from every experience, nothing would make sense because that means anything we did or say it would not matter. Since those things do matter, experiencing and …show more content…
learning is part of life. As you bring both of these two life attributes, there is a realization that these are actually an enormous part of life.
The idea is that there will most likely be experiences and life lessons, whether you like them or not it’s all still going to happen. Life has no direction but that can be a good thing because you don’t always have to know where you need to be, or who to be and that’s when experiences and life lessons occur. They occur because you do something you want to do or you do something you’re not so sure of but still do it; however, either way you still end up with something that you’ll carry through life. This was discussed in This I believe: Life Lessons, “A life lesson, and the story behind it, is something we feel has altered us, great or slight, and after that moment we are changed. A simple observation becomes a beacon that offers guidance, direction, or meaning– and a foundation for living” (Gediman, John, 2). This relates because we do change once we have had a life lesson and it becomes part of us to keep experiencing and learning. If there were no experiencing or lesson learning life would be uneventful, tedious, and overall boring because you would not have anything to look forward to or want to
try. Life does not have a direct explanation or direction; however, there should be an understanding that life is an experience and having lessons to learn from those experiences. The lessons learned can be remembered as positive, which make you want to keep going with that experience or it can be sort of negative and makes you think about new choices, which turns into something positive because you will not do that negative thing again. However, in order to get these experiences and lessons you have to get out and let life take you wherever.
