It hasn’t been the days my hair didn’t move with hairspray, dressed in the tightest dress I could find, or makeup caked on my face. It’s the moments when I’m in my own skin, wearing sweatshirts, relaxing at home, and not worrying about what I look like. It’s the moments where I feel the most comfortable about being myself and happy. It’s the little moments, like when someone looks up to you with admiration. It’s the feeling of falling in love. It’s the way it feels to achieve your goals you’ve worked for. It’s the wrinkles from your every smile. Beauty is in the heart. How can there be a set of beauty standards when beauty is defined in so many perspectives? Every single human being is unique in their own way, with experiences and memories of their own. We are all different shapes, sizes, colors, and heritage. Why set a limited amount of standards on beauty when there are so many things, big and small, that define beauty? Are we all supposed to look the same, have the same experiences, and have the same happy moments?
