According to Wikipedia Forgiveness is the intentional and voluntary process by which a victim undergoes a change in feelings and attitude regarding an offense. Another denotation is letting go of negative emotions such as vengefulness, with an increased ability to wish the offender well. Reading that definition its sounds like a robot wrote it. When I think about forgiveness, I think about a spiritual and emotional process. I live my life from a biblical perspective, and I believe that forgiveness is a spiritual process. Forgiveness means being selfless and loving, maintaining your health, and remembering we all fall short of perfection.

Also, we cannot expect to receive forgiveness if we cannot forgive others. Everyone will need forgiveness from someone at some point in their life. With that being said, you should treat others how you wish to be treated. Don’t hold mistakes over anyone’s head, and don’t be so quick to tell someone “I’ll forgive you, but I will never forget”. When forgiveness happens, forgetting should also be a part of that process. When statements like that are made it means that you really aren’t forgiving that person.
