Definition Essay: Who Is A Hero?
“A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself.” What is a hero to you? Bravery, courage, these are things i think about when defining a hero. Who is your hero? The heroes in hollywood are portrayed as saving the damsel in distress, or catching the bad guy. Although our answers are all different they will all share similarities.
Why do we need heroes? Heroes are needed because they provide, inspire, and teach us, but heroes can be your parents, friends, or teachers. Our heroes provide lessons and inspiration, lessons of bravery, strength, and love. Morally, how can strength compete with kindness and love? A lot of people believe strength and physical looks come before kindness and love, but what good hero cares more about their physical looks then their heart? A hero is not always perfect but they are morally right. I truly believe that morals should come first in a good person mind.
Superman , batman, or iron man, do they define your idea of a hero? “You are the hero of your own story.” My dad is my hero, he came from nothing, a single teenage mother, no money, and a mental disability. He has always had a good heart despite having an awful childhood and it taught me to keep my head up and my heart solid. Heroes can range in age from 2 years old to 110 years old, they can be fighting many battles that can teach us hope and strength.

Heroes are all around us, you just have to open your eyes and search for a influential person in your life.
