A. Have any of you seeing someone with an oral disease such as these and wonder how did it happen? How can I prevent it from happening to me?
B. My name is Belzabeth Ceja and today I am here to instruct you on how practice proper oral hygiene.
C. I will show you proper techniques and tools you should use when taking care of your teeth, gums and tongue so you can prevent oral diseases.

A. Maintaining your teeth healthy and free of cavities
1. Components of taking care of your teeth:
a. Choose a quality toothbrush with soft nylon bristles that are gentle on your teeth;
b. Use fluoride toothpaste which helps remove plaque and strengthen tooth enamel.

a. Proper teeth brushing technique: Place the toothbrush at a 45-degree angle, brush gently in a circular motion. Brush the inner and outer surfaces of each tooth. Use the tip of the toothbrush for the inner surface of your teeth.
b. Brush your teeth at least two times a day for a period of at least two minutes to keep cavities away.
B. Approaches to take care of your tongue:
1. Tools needed:
a. Use an antibacterial foam t;
b. b. Use a tongue cleaner
2. Technique used:
a. Place an amount of the foam on the tongue cleaner.
b. Then open your mouth, stick your tongue out and place the tongue cleaner all the way in the back of your tongue. Next, carefully begin to move the tongue cleaner back and forth for a few times.
c. Clean your tongue at least once a day to keep bacteria that causes bad breath away from your mouth
C. Taking care of your gums can prevent diseases such as gingivitis, receding gums and periodontitis
1. Ways to take care of your gums:
a. Use a gum massager to stimulate increased blood flow to the massaged area of the gums. An increase in the blood flow improves the body’s natural defenses to protect infected gums via the immune system.
