Describe The Relationship Between Perry And Kickball
On Sunday, I arrived at Tower Grove Park around 1:30 P.M. to meet Brian, Kameron, and their son. It was a nice sunny day and almost 70 degrees outside. They offered me some snacks they had brought and water. I was not hungry, but I did accept the water. They introduced me to their 8-year-old son Perry. Perry wanted to play kickball, so Kameron played kickball with him. After they finished playing kickball, Perry came over to the picnic table and wanted a snack and a juice. Brian asked him to clean his hands first with the sanitizer, but Perry said, “No, I do not want to.” When Kameron looked at Perry with a firm facial expression and direct eye contact without saying a word, Perry immediately sanitized his hands while nonetheless, frowning and pouting. …show more content…
“Because it is not safe and we have snacks on the table as well, so it is not sanitary,” Brian said. “Perry get off of the table now before I have to come over there!” Kameron says. “Perry, would you like to finish playing kickball now?” Brian said. Perry gets down off the table and runs directly to Brian. Brian picked Perry up and held him as if he was a baby. I was so shocked because Perry is 8 years-old. Brian says that when they have their family “interchanges” they are not to punish or discipline Perry, but rather to listen to his feelings and concerns. They think that through these open communications they help promote a positive relationship. To me, Perry seemed very spoiled. While Brian used verbal guidance to redirect Perry, Kameron used both more dramatic, verbal, and nonverbal guidance, such as direct eye contact, facial expression, and a firm tone of

Laila and Tariq have a very close relationship. They understand each other very well and they communicate very much even when they can’t see each other, “Well, his flashlight will be going off before you know it, Babi said, referring to Laila and Tariq’s nightly signaling game. They played it for so long it had become a bedtime ritual, like brushing teeth” (110). A couple who did not communicate very well was Laila’s parents Mammy and Babi. Unlike Tariq and Laila, Babi and Mammy argued all the time, “Downstairs. her parents were fighting. Again. Laila knew the routine: Mammy ferocious, indomitable, pacing and ranting… Finally, a door slammed. Pounding footsteps” (108). While in Laila and Tariq’s relationship there is no person who rules over the other, Mammy rules over Babi. She always scolds him and makes him feel bad, “Babi sitting, looking sheepish and dazed, nodding obediently, waiting for the storm to pass… Babi it seemed, would survive to see another day”…

I find from this reading book that the love between the brothers is complicated. They each care for one and other, but they're not really brother unless you count them as a brotherhood. Dairy as an example as Ponyboy claims, "I never could please him. If I brought home B's, he wanted A's, and I if I brought home A's, he wanted to make sure they stay A's," even though Ponyboy can't see it Dairy just loves him and is trying to protect him, even though he's a little harsh. Soda loves both of them and he is always trying to keep the peace in between each other in the household, and without him, the family could not stay together. Now Johnny is the one who cold always have a little love, as the book says his parents have always treated him disrespectfully "his father was always beating him up and his mother ignored him, except when she was hacked off at something."…

His parents were very misleading, although it was mainly his mother. His siblings also set bad examples for him and one even shut him out of her life! When he was a child, his mother and father quit being rodeo performers and his mother turned to alcohol. His parents fought to the point of divorce and his mom ran off with him and his siblings to San Francisco. This was very bad for him both psychologically and physically. His mother ordered their school teachers to never allow his dad to come and see them, but he still managed to, occasionally, and even though Perry’s mom told her children not to speak to their father, most of them minded, but Perry did not. He favored his father and this often caused him to run away from home in search for his dad. He hated his mother for being an alcoholic who gave herself away for money and could barely support the family, which is why the children ended up in an orphanage. After becoming sick in the Salvation Army shelter from the woman that tried to drown him, his father finally took him away to live with him, but their lives together were not easy. His relationship with his parents was a bit strained, but if that was not bad enough, he seems to believe there is something wrong with his family because of the way they have died, like a curse. “I think there must be something wrong with us,” Perry observes, and the…

At one point in their childhood, Perry and Barbara lives with an alcoholic mother who was “‘entertaining’ some sailors while [their] father was away” and shared and an absent and abusive father (173). Clearly, both siblings grew up in a family without morale. As parents, “Tex and Flo” fails to instill good conduct into their children since they didn’t have any themselves. When Perry reaches adulthood, Barbara didn’t love him anymore as “he wasn't her baby anymore but a wild thing, a thief, a robber” (115). Perry’s outcome is a product of a troubled beginning. He succumbs to the same fate as his other siblings, save for Barbara. When each she reaches adulthood, Barbara “goes on to live an ordinary life, married, and raising a family” (69). Barbara gains values elsewhere and builds a family of integrity herself. She is the only exception in the whole family. In this version of kickball basketball there are 2 teams with about 13 players on each team. The game is still played on a full sized basketball court. In this game the pitcher rolls out the ball to the kicker, and the kicker kicks it. After the kick has been made, the objective of the offense is for them to run as fast as they can around the basses to get to home plate before the defense makes 5 passes and shoot the ball into the basket. However, if the offensive player gets around all three bases before the defense makes their 5 passes and a shot, the runner must tag the next person in line on offense. Then that person starts to run around the bases. If the defensive basket…
