I watched Law and Order season 13 episode 10 “Spiraling Down”. Alexandra the state prosecutor used a self-centered role. The reason I believe this is because when ever she had a conversation with a group she focused the attention on her rather than on the group. This role affected the group communication by not being open for ideas or to communicate. On the other hand, Olivia one of the detectives she exhibit group task role. The reason why I believe this is because she helped the group achieve its goal and accomplish its work. This role affected the group communication by being able to solve problems and take group ideas in consideration.

Georgia exhibited maintenance roles because she helped preserve the relationships in the group. For example when her lawyer, her husband and her were discussing they case she always was encouraging, harmonies and compromising. Her role affected the group communication by calming her husband and helping the lawyer understand what was going on with her husband. On the other hand, Olivia exhibits communication maintenance roles such as encouraging, expressing group feelings and harmonizing. For example, in one situation her detective partner just waned to arrest the under age girl for prostitution and she said no wait let me talk to her.
