Descriptive Essay: Summers At Lake George
Summers at Lake George Is that a breeze you feel? No, it’s still scorching hot and all you can think about is the lake in front of you. Imagine dipping your toe into the water, that first burst of cold is so contradicting to the sun’s heat and it feels amazing. You jump in with a splash, feeling the water rippling all around you. Taking in the dancing bubbles and the soft feel of sand beneath your toes, you resurface. This summer at Lake George is going to be a good one. Ordinarily, my summers are spent at home, but when they’re not, I spend them at Lake George. There is so much to love about it. For example, the cabins with wood burning fireplaces, the sound of friendly chatter and all the activities outside of the lake. Waking up early, I walk towards the lake and sit down to read. My favorite spot is under a tree, consuming shade and cool air. I savor the refreshing temperature and quietness of each morning. Other than staying in the …show more content…
There’s an explosion of color. Another bang and the sky erupted into a pattern of lights. During the day it is mostly hot, but at night it’s almost freezing. People sit lakeside wrapped in warm blankets. To go along with the show of fireworks, a barbeque is started. The scent of meat being cooked blends into the cool night air. I always thought that this was a peaceful and relaxing way to end a day at the lake. In the long run, I hope to continue visiting Lake George. Watching a sports game and listening to the cheering of families is always exciting. Exploring the town, taking my time walking and enjoying the cordial way of townspeople is also interesting. The most appealing factor of the area is taking in the scenery of the lake. The water slowly moving, the sun reflecting off the surface and of course the people around me who have the same look of admiration in their eyes. These are more or less, the many reasons why I will return to the

It was a beautiful July day in 2014 when my family and I were camping at Holland Lake with our family friends Kinsey and Lauren. There wasn't a cloud in sight and the sun reflected off the bluish greenish water. The air smelt of smoke and fresh trees. Early in the morning when the campground is quiet you can even hear the waterfall. Holland Lake is a very busy lake with boaters, tubers, water skiers, ect. Since that day was so nice there were a bunch of boats on the lake the waves were huge. Kinsey, Lauren, Alex and I were all pretty close in age but Alex and Lauren were taller so they get the outside of the tube. When we all finished breakfast I changed into my swimming suit speedy fast and rode my bike as fast as I could to my cousins camper, Alex. I had to wait what felt like 5 hours for her to change. Once she was done we waited for Kinsey and Lauren at ¨The Beach¨. Alex and I killed time by talking about how much fun we were going to have…

Also I go to my friends cabin’s with them for the weekend in the summer. We then usually go tubing and then jump into the shining clear water of the lake. My favorite time of the season to go to Ruth lake is in the summer when the water is warm and the sun is out. I also like the lake because you can fishing, which is fun for me. The water glistened off the sun like a polished pearl. After strolling up to the shore, she gazed at the astounding view. She hopped into ice-cold liquid, and felt a chill crawl up her back. “How does it feel,” yelled a far off voice. “It feels great… jump right in,” she lied. She thought about how Lake Holcombe allows people to be themselves, spend time with family, and become stronger mentally and physically.…

The University of California, Merced’s Men’s Basketball team was so enthusiastic, as well as full of energy that humid Saturday morning as they prepared for an extraordinary adventure at Lake Yosemite. Each player greets Dr. Boggs, also thanking him for taking his time off from work in the health center to take them to the lake. Dr. Boggs, feeling warm-hearted and comforted, appreciated the well-mannered basketball players and cannot wait to get out in the lake. “I have brought my boat out here today so you guys can get the full lake experience, but I need to go over some safety procedures. I also need to explain to you all what exactly we will be doing today.”-Dr. Boggs.…

It was three years ago in May, and my family decided to set out on a trip to the famous Lake Powell. My Turpin side, which is who we went with, consists of a fair amount of people: Grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. Lake Powell is a reservoir located on the Colorado River on the border between Utah and Arizona. It was a little over five hundred miles from Snake River to Lake Powell and it took us over nine hours to get there. The drive consisted of my cousins and I sleeping on each others shoulders, and lots of movies since my Grandpa had TV screens in his truck.…

I sat down on the park bench by the Mirror Lake that was closest to the fountain. Even though nobody was sitting on the seven foot long bench, I sat on one corner occupying the minimum amount of space possible. Only after sitting on the wooden bench I realize that the bench was still slightly wet from previous night’s heavy rain. Though autumn had stripped away the youthful leaves of deciduous trees around the lake, it brought a strange nostalgic beauty to the campus. Dry and crispy fallen leaves ranging from yellow to crimson colors carpeted the cemented bank of the lake. Despite what the name suggests, the Mirror Lake did not reflect its surroundings in the green algae-filled water. However, the serene view of the lake was enough for me to catch a breath and eat lunch between my intensive science classes.…

In my earlier years my family took me camping to a lake. My cousins came as well, which made it even more enjoyable. When we arrived at the campsite, I was in awe. It was something out of a Disney movie. There were towering pine trees shielding us from the sun’s rays. Wild plants and bushes surrounded our campsite, but not too far away was a clearing in the bushes where we can see the lake in all its glory. People were fishing, kayaking, swimming, and playing with their dogs.…
