In her quick stolen glance, she searched for Detective Willams. Stealing a second glance, she finally found him. He had stepped off of the scene to converse with a pair of brawny men. Willams appeared to hand something over. As this event unfolded, the conversation appeared to be becoming increasingly stressed. She almost ran back to find out what the group was saying but her ever oblivious husband finally noticed her lack of presence beside him and beckoned towards her. “Why’d you stop?Hurry up!” he called back to her. I guess it wasn’t any of my business anyways, she thought with resignation as she obliged. Catching up to him, she commented on the peculiar scene she witnessed. “I’m sure it was nothing of any concern to us,” he quickly retorted, speeding up his pace towards their front door. Jamey couldn’t resist spying on the scene from the kitchen window once Braden had retreated to their shared bedroom. When she looked though, Detective Willams had disappeared along with almost the entire police force. This discovery only increased her curiosity.
