Detor A Short Story
“Simple Mission Detora. The possible location of the rumored underground city, Damancia, is marked on your phone's map. Your mission is to find, confirm, and retract the original Damascus sword.” said Ely Kyal( codename: Kyll). “ Isn't that the sword that can cut through anything?” asked Mason. “ Correct. This sword, and its possible wielder can be immensely dangerous, too dangerous. If this artifact gets in the wrong hands, it could prove cataclysmic, especially so with the armour still out there. Let me be clear, DO NOT ENGAGE WITH ENEMIES! The Area is too open, crowded, and cautious. If they see a body, they'll know someone is there. Watch yourself out there.” “Got it”.

As Detora entered the Damascus International Airport, he quickly noticed

“ Dr. Hinzman!” “Ah yes, my favorite student”. “ But how do you, why did you…” Well it's simple, after my family died, all I had left were swords, no owned house or way to pay for my current. I left. One day after learning of its possible existence, I became entranced with the thought of a sword that can cut through anything. I needed to have that sword, and now I do. I won't let you take my last love. “You know this is dangerous, who could get hurt, innocent people, with that sword. It must be.. “ENOUGH!” screamed Dr. Hinzman interrupting Detora's plea. “ I won’t have this! If you want this sword you'll have to take it. Detora was aware of his prowess with a sword, all his life he had trained with it, The odds of defeating or even disarming ere miniscule. As Dr. Hinzman strided forward swinging, Detora had to run. He ran through the entrance in which Dr. Hinzman came out and began to seek a place to hide. He grappled up onto the dining room chandelier and quickly leaped to the balcony. “ Ah there you are” Hinzman said approaching him. The fight was inevitable. Mason pulled out his hidden blade and readied …show more content…

The use of the word “suddenly” indicates this is not something he ever expected and is very confused by. Due to the trust and faith he has in T’Gatoi and what she had shown him, he doesn’t allow himself to see his hesitation for what it is; the preface of his doubt on the process. The tone shows his reluctance to believe that it is possible he could fear anything related to T’Gatoi. It’s obvious he is choosing to blind himself in the way he attempts to stall going into the room and then proceeds to excuse his actions even just to himself by the use of the word “wasted” when describing how he took the time to choose a knife. The reluctance to admit his fears even to himself is…

Richard Selzer presents an amazing account of sense imagery throughout “The Knife.” The opening paragraph leaves the reader in a sort of literary haze, as the careful details and description leave the essay’s main subject a mystery. As the author writes, “I am still struck with a kind of dread that it is I in whose hand the blade travels, that my hand is its vehicle, that yet again this terrible steel-bellied thing and I have conspired for a most unnatural process, the laying open of the body of a human being,” it seems Selzer’s primary connotation with the knife is a negative one, almost as if he uses the tool to inflict pain and death. Opening his essay in such a manner seems interesting, as the author is initially viewed as a sort of barbarian, using the steel implement for “terrible” and “unnatural” acts upon the human body. This reaction to the power of the knife is the first reveal of the essays main character and narrator, as the reader is given no concrete physical description to formulate an image. This method certainly creates a sense of attachment to the piece, as intrigue and wonder fuel the urge to continue and discover the details behind such an unusual introduction.…

Blade’s hunters stopped, in shock, and flew off, except for one robot who was trying to take Fang away to where they were going. Max flew up and stabbed the robot in the head and he fell. She looked at Fang “Where is your fighting will?”…

Researchers believe that father figures present in a child’s life may help to develop better friendships, fewer behavioral problems, higher self esteem, and lower chances of future criminal activity. Parents are important factors in determining one’s personality. In addition, they provide needed moral support. In a tragedy like William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, many of the characters need a great deal of support. Each of the three father figures--Friar Lawrence, Prince Escalus, and Lord Capulet--have varying degrees of power. They all have some importance, regardless of if the men are biological fathers.…

My heart leaps out of my throat and I gulp as the creature’s pale white eyes glare into my soul. The intoxicating smell of blood floods my nostrils. Blood slowly trickles down her chin and her once friendly face is now without emotion. Taking a step back, I glance behind me and see my razor-sharp machete lying on the ground, no more than twenty feet from me. I glimpse a final time at my best friend and bolt over to my machete, picking it up quickly. I then sprint straight for my backyard a few blocks away.…

Allison’s body tensed. If David, or Lathan — whoever he was — was going to do something she knew it had to be soon. She was going to run all right. But she had no intentions of running away. She only wished that she had a knife or her car keys. Anything that she could use as a weapon against the glittery prick. At the thought of her keys, Allison’s hand brushed against her pockets. Her hand darted inside of her left pocket and retrieved one of the ballpoint pens she’d pocketed in the grocery. It’s not much, her fingertips pushed the cap off before she walked the pen body down to hold it like a dagger, but it’s better than nothing.…

As the night grew colder, the slim trees danced through the wind passing by Smasher Sullivans land. The open paddocked fields of green seemed so peaceful and serene against the dark forest that ended it. With weary shadows casting as night fell upon the tree tops Smasher sat on the porch of him home, alone, staring past the fields and deep into the forest that forever watched him. The hushed silence began to play games with his mind, his eyes scoping along the horizon and back again searching for any sign of movement that could spark the violence and power he craved to behold. A large black bird flew from the darkness and lost into the night sky in the blink of an eye. What seemed like hundreds more of these black figures retreated seconds later that caused ripples of chaos breaking the silence. Smasher panicked, grasping his rifle from the old wooden table beside him aiming into the distance, not at the commotion but of a small outline leaning upon a tree trunk. The figure grew larger and more prominent as it approached the opening close to the rusty farm fence encompassed by darkness. Smasher slowly rose to his feet; hands tightly wrapped around the rifle, boot buckles clinking together, and took a paused step towards the field. He crept closer, with each step squelching from the mud caught beneath his boots when finally he reached the fence. This rusting line of wire being the only thing between himself, and the black figure, which was now exposed from the depth of the forest. “Who goes there? You stepped ya self on the wrong land!”, Smasher cries, his voice bellowing upon the stillness. He stood, waiting for a cowardly reply, but all that could be heard was the crying of bush animals and the clashing of branches. The forest was brought to a complete hush as the figure took an unnerving stride towards Smasher and his face was finally revealed by the moonlight struck on the open plain. His somber skin stood out to Smasher like a bright light shining through a…

Words cut through my mind like 1000 papercuts, sharp and painful. They swirl, crowd and scatter, taunting me, impossible to catch. I'm expected to read this out loud? How? I stumble and stutter slowly fighting through the double-edged blades of d’s and b’s the, gaping maws of silent e’s, the poisoned spikes of ph’s. My first-grade teacher spits acid, “Why don’t you just focus?”. The thousand-eyed monster shifts and shows it’s eyes white, restless, ready to strike with the laughter of 25 tiny voices. I fight alone through switching numbers as 21’s turn to 12’s. I fight alone, slogging through the muck of short passages, while others soar above on Nimbus 2000 broom sticks with Harry. I fight alone until I meet a little mouse named Despereaux.…

The dark of night lay subdued upon me like a stifling blanket, hindering my escape. Running beneath the twinkling of stars, I checked my pocket for the security of my blade. I grasped the handle with a sense of dependence for the cold rigid grip. After running for some time, I found myself near a soldier in a wheat field. Without hesitation, I delivered the soldier to death, beginning my mission. Observing his eyes rolling into his head, his jaw relaxing, his chest resting upon the dirt, and the smell of fresh blood—ha!—I knew I would never turn back. After I had committed my first murder, I became heavily devoted to killing with a bitter taste of sweetness for my homicide tallies. After I had killed my first soldier, I knew to depart far from the scene.…
