Diary of A Wimpy Kid and New Friend Greg
DIARY OF A WIMPY KID BOOK REPORT BY JEFF KINNEY The setting of the book is the school and his house. The main characters are Greg, Rodrick, Rowley, and Manny. The plot is first Rodrick beats up Greg and gives him bad advise about middle school. After that Greg and Rowley joined the safety patrol. Then Greg broke Rowley’s arm on accident. Later Greg did a terrible thing, he put kids in a hole because bully’s came back from the Halloween Party but it wasn’t them, it was a fat guy. Then a teacher came by and Greg ran with Rowley’s coat on and Rowley gets kicked out of safety patrol. Then Greg admits he did it so Greg gets fired and Rowley gets promoted and they are not friends anymore. When Rowley has a new friend Greg becomes friends with the weirdo and it doesn’t workout. The school dance came up and Rowley went with his new friend and Greg tries to make it up but he can’t. Finally the bully’s came and made Rowley eat the nasty cheese that was on the playground for eleven years. When the bully’s

left Greg took the blame for Rowley and they became friends again. The theme was that friends stick together no matter what. The summery is about a boy in middle school and about how bad it is. I like the book because it gives me tips on how bad middle school can be. I dislike how bad the character Rodrick

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw is the third book in the series. The book starts with a New Year and Greg talks about how members of his family are coming up with new-year resolutions but aren't able to stick to them. He then talks about how grown-ups think that you don't deserve anything that is fun for Christmas and how he is getting lame gifts. Then, Greg and Rowley had went to the bus stop and found a little piece of paper taped to the street sign saying that the bus route was rezoned and that the kids have to walk to school and Greg talks about how it’s a bad idea to make kids walk to school and then later he talks about how his Dad hates teenagers and how his Dad's arch-enemy, the baddest teenager, Lenwood Heath was sent to the military academy Spag Union Military Academy. Later on in the chapter One of Greg's classmates, Albert Sandy told everyone at lunch about a person who could jump six feet straight up in the air and all he did was dig a three-inches hole and kept jumping out of it for a hundred times and then doubled the size of it and kept jumping, Greg believed him and thought of digging a hole, but Susan won't let him, so he went over to Rowley's and told him about it, but Rowley said his parents will ground him if they found the hole, but Greg said they could cover it up with a sheet so they will not find about it until a long time. The ground was frozen solid and they hardly made a dent, after digging for a few minutes Greg gave the shovel to Rowley and made him do for extra time to make him think he was a heavy contributor. Greg saw a show on TV which was about Time Capsules, so Greg and Rowley came up with that idea, but Rowley wasn't giving anything away, Greg put in three-bucks, Rowley thought he was making a sacrifice so he also sacrificed some of his gifts into the box. Greg wrote a note saying that he was the one who put the cash in because he thought the money will be worth a lot of money in the…

In this book, the main character had to go through a lot of internal and external conflicts throughout the book. Some of the internal conflicts the main character, Alex, had to face include keeping his mental strength that allowed him and his two sisters to stay alive. Some external conflicts include how Alex had to deal with his two sisters and make them do what he says since he was the next in charge of the family after their parents are gone and his older brother, Carlos, in the marines. I personally dont like the ending of the book. Why does Alex sister, Brianna, have to die? My favorite character in this book is Kevin. Even though Kevin died at a part in this book, he was a thoughtful person for Alex. Kevin always gave Alex food that he didnt need and helped him get one more bag of food at the food line every morning. After reading this book, I learned that making more friends will make a lot of difference once you are stuck in a difficult situation. I will recommend this book to any people that are interested in catastrophic situation.…

Although most of the book was superb and understandable, I have question: Who set the fire on the Wishart’s house? At first I thought it was Eliza because she said that her dad would get what he deserved and she stood emotionless as her house burned down. But then you made me question myself when you started talking about Jasper and brought up that he had previously said, “you will know when I have left.” Did Jasper or Eliza set the fire? Or am I completely off track? Did neither of them do it? Did you mean for that to be confusing and make the audience think?…

An internal conflict I found in each of the characters was the choice between doing the right thing and doing the wrong thing. Each character found that peer pressure got the best all of them and if they were to succeed and over-achieve, they would have to rebel from it. Knowing that their family members were rooting for them and counting on them, they finally decided to get their acts together and buckle down. Sooner or later they found out that hitting the books wasn’t as difficult as they made it out to be. They all felt that they had made some hard and wrong decisions because they didn’t stand up for what was right and tried to follow along with the crowd. After these experiences, I guess they realized their reality was what they made of it, not what others attempted to make it. Throughout their college years spent together, the three learned to help each other stay focused and achieve their dreams, leading them into a world of success, intelligence, and happiness.…

The seasonal shift from winter to summer represents the boys’ fall into maturity, proving the theme that the loss of innocence is painful and unavoidable. While introducing the Devon School, Gene explains early on that "During the winter[,] most of [the dormitory Masters] regard anything unexpected in a student with suspicion...[but on] clear June days...they appear to uncoil...[and] a streak of tolerance is detectable" (Knowles 23). The Devon School, one of the most flourishing and strict boarding schools in New Hampshire, takes boys and toughens them into men using a rigorous lifestyle. In the summer, however, the teachers let the boys skip meals and ditch school. Gene suspects that the Devon faculty lessens their grip over the boys because he and the other Lower Middlers, two ranks below the seniors, remind the teachers of youthful peace. Therefore, the students’ summer session symbolizes a naïve phase in their lives before they reach the vast confusions and troubles of adulthood. However, when Gene’s dormitory Master, Mr.Ludsbury, returns to the school, Mr.Ludsbury chides Gene, lecturing that “everything went straight to seed during the summer” and he declares that he will “put… the dormitory back together”(Knowles 81). With the inescapable coming of winter, order returns to…

Lazy - I say that Greg is very lazy, for several reasons. First, one time on his way to school he made Rowley, his best friend, carry him on a piggy back. Second, during the summer Greg would NEVER do any sports or get any physical activity instead he would just stay at home all day playing video games and since his dad expects him to be playing outside, every time right before his dad came home, he’d turn off his video games, run out to the backyard, run through the sprinklers and pretend to play football all by himself.…
