A. It has been a popular belief that exercising will burn all the fat and calories we take during eating.
III. But what if I told you that after all this time, our belief that exercising is an effective way to get rid of all those pesky and nasty fat is completely false?

A. Reducing calories intake is more rewarding than exercising because it takes less time. You could go into the hassle of going to the gym to burn some calories, or you could just not eat a snack.
1. As stated by Philip Stanforth:"You'd have to walk 35 miles to burn 3,500 calories. That's a lot of walking. But if you look at eating, a Snickers bar might have, say, 500 calories. It's going to be a lot easier to cut the Snickers bar than to do five miles of walking every day."
B. When we consume less calories than we spend, we lose weight. On the contrary, when we consume more calories than we spend, we gain weight. To get rid of one pound of fat, we need to produce a 3,500 calorie deficit, which can be accomplished by exercising or dieting.
C. The reason why exercising is ineffective than dieting is because exercising takes a whole heap of time to burn off the foods we consume, especially if they are rich in calories. 1. According to Pip Taylor, a professional triathlete and nutritionist, the human metabolism may be decreased at other period of the day to preserve energy after an extensive running. It is not unusual for our appetite to increase tremendously afterward in the day or even the subsequent day.
2. Because of this, most people will empty their refrigerator, eating with all their might after a tiresome exercise and undo all those precious calories that has been burned in an instant.
B. We will also feel tired and lazy after working out.
1. There is proof to suggest that some people will become lazier after a workout, using elevator instead of stairs, they will rest more often and use less energy on their normal routine.
2. These changes are generally called "compensatory behaviors" — and they simply refer to alterations we might unintentionally create after exercising to offset the calories
