diferent type of learning style
Different students have multiple ways of memorizing information. Either if it is through rehearsing information constantly or writing it down in an organized way in order to remember it. They still have certain learning styles to help adapt new information their professors provide them with. Based off these adaptations, they are certain factors that influence effective learning through three different learning styles. One of the effective learning styles that certain students are classified as would be kinesthetic learning. Kinesthetic learners are considered to be the type of student who learns best by participating in labs where there are models and hands-on activities to build new projects. Kinesthetic learners adapt better with movement because they create creative ways of grasping information faster than a student who’s a visual or auditory learner. When a Kinesthetic learner approaches new skills, they want to be shown step by step on how to grasp the task and they complete their task by using movement to help them remember. On the other hand, being a kinesthetic learner has disadvantages due to them getting distracted easily where listening to lectures can make them become restless. They may start to do off tasks things like: drawing, taking apart pens, and tapping pens or pencils on table tops. When it comes to studying and study tips they tend to write and highlight important points they notice that will be important for a test. The tactile learner will use flashcards and draw out diagrams to understand lectures better because it is broken down in manageable parts to enhance their learning. Moreover, outside of the classroom, kinesthetic learners excel in careers like sports, being teachers, musicians, and medical related jobs. They excel in these careers because they enjoy interacting with others where they can work in small groups to help collaborate on a task.

R’s learning style is mildly kinesthetic learning. R’s VARK questionnaire results were visual: 9, aural: 4, read/write: 5, kinesthetic: 14. Kinesthetic learners learn best by moving their bodies. These types of learners are often called as hyperactive as children and have good coordination, sense of timing and strong body movement. One other thing that is unique about the kinesthetic learner is that they often tap, wiggle and move their legs when they sit. Kinesthetic learners are excellent in working well with their hands. They are good at sculpting, repairing, and art works. A kinesthetic learner tends to use all their senses – touch, sight, smell, taste and hearing. The learning style that I received as a result of completing the VARK questionnaire was the kinesthetic learning preference. Kinesthetic learning which is also known as, tactile learning, is a learning style in which learning takes place by physically doing the activity rather than just watching a demonstration or listening to a lecture ("Kinesthetic learning," 2013, para. 1). Kinesthetic learners tend to be tactile in their learning behaviors and are commonly thought of as “doers”. As a result, when they are doing an activity, they tend be learning in the process or discovering ideas of the activity itself. They can remember important things in relation to what they are doing. Some kinesthetic learners struggle with listening and reading. Kinesthetic learner like hands on learning activities, thus, do better in activities ranging from chemistry experiments, acting, sports activities, art, etc. Learning occurs in this group when they can express thought, ideas or concepts by using their body.…

Through the VARK analysis this author was discovered to have multimodal learning style with a slight preference of Read/Write and kinesthetic learning styles (see Appendix). The kinesthetic learner is a learner whom retains information best by involving as much physical activity into the lesson as is allowed. Physical touch is important to learning new ideas and concepts. It is typical for a kinesthetic learner to involve as many of the five senses, touch, hear, smell, taste, and sight, as possible when learning. The experience had when the lesson is taught is what engages the kinesthetic learner in the information. Physical comfort, drawing pictures, making models, sample tests and making note cards, are all tools a kinesthetic learner can use to increase the success of a study session. Kinesthetic learners do not learn well with limited activity or when lectures are given with no physical movement allowed.…

Kinesthetic learners use pictures and real on screen methods. “Movers” are described as learners that have a difficult time sitting still for periods of time and tend to move from subject to subject. I think that I am a kinesthetic learner, because I can't sit still for long. I need to move around or I don't learn as well. When I am able to feel and use all my senses I learn better. When I study I will tend to tap my pencil, or I will tap my foot. I am a poor speller, and I use flashcards to study. I learn better when I am able to see things, and I learn better when I move around. I learn by doing something, So I learn by moving, doing, and touching. We also called tactile learners.
