Difference In Communication In My Big Fat Greek Wedding

The biggest difference in communication between many of the characters in the film, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, and myself would be their naturally outspoken and openly emotional nature. Though the character of Toula was more reserved than the rest of her family, a large portion of the humor and the tension in the movie is derived from the candor of her father and mother. At the opening of the movie, Toula’s father, Gus, criticizes Toula and tells her, “You better get married soon. You’re starting to look old.” (Goetzman, Hanks, Wilson, & Zwick, 2002).
