Differences In The Story Gryphon, By Charles Baxter
In the story “Gryphon” by Charles Baxter, a 4th grade class has a weird sub, because their teacher Mr. Hebler got sick. Miss.Ferenczi the sub that tells all these weird stories to the students, although no one actually believes her, but a boy named Tommy does. Tommy defends Miss. Ferenczi stories a boy named Carl and other kids because he likes Miss. Ferenczi because she’s strange and tommy does not get to see things that are mysteries because Five Oaks is not. Tommy and Carl argue in the bus if the griffin is real or not.Tommy tries to make Carl belive that she is right.To show Carl that he was wrong, he needed proof, so he made the “hamster” story” to protect Miss.
