Title An intriguing substitute is something that every student hopes for. A change in the somewhat monotonous routine that comes along with a school day. The student’s in Charles Baxter’s “Gryphon” may have gotten more than they bargained for. This short story is made up of dynamic and static characters who are accompanied by an interesting theme and multiple symbols. Baxter’s “Gryphon” is centered around a few very interesting characters. Throughout the book there is a variety of both dynamic and static characters. Possibly the most dynamic character is that of Mis Ferenczi. Miss Ferenczi has many personality traits shown throughout the story, though one of the most notable would be her eccentric nature. She does many unusual things during
