Bones and the Digestive, Respiratory, Circulatory, and Nervous Systems
Introduction: Bones are what our skeletal systems are made up of. There are 206 bones in the human body of the adult skeleton. The adult skeleton is broken up in two divisions: the axial skeleton, and the appendicular skeleton. The axil skeleton is made up of 80 bones, and the appendicular skeleton is made up of 126 bones. As for the different systems of the body, we dissected a fetal pig in groups and indicated each system as we went along. The digestive system is made up of a digestive tract, and other organs that help break down and absorb food. The organs that make up the tract are the mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, rectum, and anus. This systems importance is to provide the body with energy. The respiratory system is the system of the body that helps you breathe. It is made up of tissues and organs. The main parts are airways (the nasal cavities, mouth, larynx, trachea and the bronchial tubes), the lungs, the blood vessels, and the muscles that enable breathing. The circulatory system is the system that keeps blood flowing throughout the body. It consists of blood, a heart, and blood vessels. The Nervous system is the control system and communication network of the body. It consists of nerves, the spinal cord, and the brain. …show more content…
