Rosa Parks is an African American woman who helped pave the way for the civil rights movement. At the age of 43, Rosa Parks infamously denied her seat to a white person, despite being seated in the colored people section. She was then fined and arrested creating an uproar against the equality between white and colored people. On the day following Rosa Parks’ arrest Jo Ann robinson, a member of the Women's Political Council, issued a statement encouraging colored people to avoid taking the bus in order to demonstrate the vitality of the African Americans to the bus system. This then triggered a movement known as the Montgomery Bus Boycott from December 5, 1955 to December 20,1956.…

It isn’t subscription commerce because it doesn’t live and die by the box. It isn’t media because it makes money through the old fashioned selling of actual goods. It is really good marketing with a seamless transition to buy. And bonus — it’s got all the analytics to prove it and can provide increasingly strong targeting for the brands it sells.…

Answer 1: Pursuing sponsored search strategy has been proved beneficial for BigSkinny. To attract a large range of customers, 1Big Skinny is bidding for a variety of keywords. These keywords differ in value in terms of conversion rate but overall they have been effective in increasing brand awareness among internet surfers.1From Exhibit 4 it is very clear that total number of clicks were around 2063 (Total clicks= impressions * click through rate = 42,986 * .048) that means odds of an ad getting click are quite high. It also signifies that sponsored search is working as a good facilitator for Big Skinny to make customers visit its website.Considering average 1price $20 and conversion rate .05, Big Skinny was able to generate the good revenue of $2063 (Assuming total sale=total clicks* conversion rate* average price)from sponsored search method. The entire marketing world is blinded by the notion that more impressions always correlates to a successful piece of content (the sad part is, most of them don’t care about the business outcomes). For example, you might hear somebody say “500,000 people saw my YouTube pre-roll ad!” But, the truth is that they likely didn’t. What probably happened was that as soon as the ad started, the “viewer” clicked away to another tab or did something else until it was over. Or looked at their phone…. So even though they didn’t pay attention, the analytics still show that they saw it.…

In a sense all marketing communication activity is a form of promotion, that is in one way or another is attempting to promote the interest of the brand, product range and/or company. What differentiates ‘above the line ' activity from ‘below the line activity ' is a somewhat arbitrary division. There is no universally accepted definition of either. Below the line activity is loosely classed as non-media advertising. Basically if an advertisement is submitted to a publication and a commission is paid to the advertising agency to feature the piece then this is deemed to be ‘above the line ' communication. If no commission has been paid, for example in the case of a public relations press release, a trade exhibition or a sponsored sports event, this is referred…

75.77% of Americans and 23.93% of people from around the world have access to the internet, making the internet an exceptional space for successful ad placement (Google Public Data). Internet marketing has become the primary means of communicating special offers and introducing new products to loyal and potential customers. As a result, many former business marketing practices have become outdated, making way for new strategies like targeted emails and relationship marketing. The increased use of these techniques has created new jobs in the industry with a projected 13% increase in marketing related careers through 2018 (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). These improved techniques have also allowed businesses to infiltrate the consumer’s mind more effectively. Although internet marketing is highly effective, not every person in the world has access to the internet, many individuals in developing nations may never be exposed to advertisements on the internet. Many individuals may never receive the benefit of the instant access to companies that the internet provides. Any business whose primary focus is internet…

The promotion that I have located is a promotional campaign from PepsiCo Vietnam for its new snack product Poca Twisties, which is also known as Twisties in other Asian market like Singapore, Malaysia or Thailand (this is an equivalent to PepsiCo’s Fritos/ Doritos for the Asian market). Beside using traditional promotion methods ad like print ads or broadcast ads (which will still be used after this specific campaign is over), the main content of this campaign is heavily emphasized on social media platforms, specifically YouTube and Facebook, which is also what I will focus on. This content is designed, proposed and operated by a local marketing agency instead of in-house department, which is a common practice for big organization.…
