College Girl Disappointments Going to college is a monumental thing in every individual’s life. For females in particular they’re promised the man of their dreams that they will potentially spend the rest of their lives with. The thing that these girls aren’t told is that, the process of finding Mr. Right involves going through a few Mr. Wrongs first. The unfortunate thing is that no one informs the female about bouncing back from the experience with their Mr. Wrong. It’s a known fact that when women are hurt they have one of two options, either to get even or bottle up their feelings and subconsciously take them out on the next guy that pursues her. The most disappointing thing in all of this is that women are the one that get ridiculed for being cold and heartless towards the very men that broke their hearts. Now, everyone is familiar with the saying “hell hath no fury then a woman scorned” but who really knows what it means? It’s used to describe women who have been wrongly heartbroken by a careless man. It hasn’t always been a universal saying known to everyone; it originated from a tragedy play by William Congreve called The Mourning Bride. In this play the main characters, a man and women are caught up in complicated love that ends in murders as well as the female character committing suicide. The famous lines were, “heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned, nor hell a fury like a woman scorned” which later was shortened to the saying we love to use today. Just imagine your average teenage girl, bright eyed and bushy tailed, ready to tackle the world. She’s been preached to all summer about what she’ll be faced with when entering her new life in college. As a side note her mom reminds her to always look her best and keep herself well groomed, because college is where she is supposed to find the man that she will grow old with. Taking these pointers and stories she
