Do you know that there is an epidemic of obesity in America? Eating poorly and depending on fast food are the main cause of problems in health for Americans. Fast food restaurants are very cheap but do not provide food that is nutritionally good. Therefore, many Americans become overweight due to imbalanced food. If fast food restaurants increase the price of food, people will become healthier because a lot of Americans choose the cheapest food. There are a lot of problems that cause obesity in America; however, people can reduce this problem by doing exercise, avoiding fast food, and increasing organic foods.
One of the solutions to reduce obesity is doing a workout. According to research, “Many medical professionals recommended that each person should try to do at least thirty minutes of vigorous exercise every day” (“Main causes of Obesity in America”). The gyms are full with many people trying to lose weight because they have been persuaded that the lack of exercise is one of the main reasons for obesity in America. Regular workouts will always be useful to decrease the unnecessary accumulation of fat necessary for healthy body. Doing exercise every day can burn calories, so people should exercise by not using the elevator, motorbikes or cars all the time. It is better for obese people to do some essential activities such as walking, skating, and bike riding. For example, instead of using elevators to a fourth floor apartment, it is very helpful to climb stairs and reduce accumulate calories. According to Shellie Pfohl, “Physical activity helps control weight, builds lean muscle, reduces fat, promotes strong bone, muscle and joint development, and decreases the risk of obesity. Physical activity is an essential component of a healthy lifestyle. In combination with healthy eating, it can help prevent a range of chronic diseases” (“Get Active”). Exercise is a key method to do this.
