* What is discrimination? How is discrimination different from prejudice and stereotyping?
Discrimination is not giving the opportunity and/or equal rights to people and/or groups because of prejudice. Discrimination is different from prejudice and stereotype because when someone is prejudice they have a negative attitude or beliefes towards an entire group of people. It can be because of their race or ethnic minority. Stereotyping is having an unreasonable or exaggerated thought about all members of a group. With discrimination it can be only a certain person that you might dislike. For example, you might not want to rent out your apartment to a Black person because of the same reason that their Black. If you would to use stereotyping in this case, it would be that you would not rent out your apartment to a Black person because all Black people are noisy. Being prejudice in this example, would be that you simple dislike Black people and how they are.
* What are the causes of discrimination? * There are many reason to which why people discriminate other people.They can discriminate a person by their background, color, ethnic, social class, or even race. The list can go on. There is discrimination going on in everyday life, where people does not give opportunities to a person or group that they dislike. Discrimination can happen in the work place, campus, or even recreation centers. Some shows it more than others. Discrimination has always been there it is just that more people try to hide it because they can get sued. Now, if someone has proof that you are discriminating a person, they can take you to court.
