My responsibility as a teacher would involve acting and speaking in a professional manner. To provide learners with clear aims and objectives. The activities should be appropriate to the learners differing needs. To use my own qualification (NNEB Diploma in Nursery Nursing), experience, and knowledge to support learners in their journey. It would be my responsibility to keep learners safe physically and emotionally. Ensuring risk assessments are carried out on the learning environment and potential resources. I would establish an environment to learn in that was fair, safeguarding learners from prejudice from the organisation or other learners.
Arrangements would be made to work in line with health and safety requirements, diversity and equality legalisation, and codes of practise laid out by the organisation.Boundaries encountered when enabling learning may include the abilities of the learners e.g. a learner with a specific learning difficulty. Disruptive learners or learners with low motivation levels may have an impact on their peers, and their ability to learn within that environment. Bad organisational skills from the teacher may lead to bad planning and then delivery of the lesson. Assessing learningAs a teacher I would assess progress, following awarding organisations and external body requirements. My responsibilities would comprise of assessing and returning work within the agreed time, and throughout the duration of the course. Giving constructive feedback, and support to the learners. Whilst using a variety of assessment methods and maintaining confidentiality. The assessment methods should be fair and relevant to the course material.
