Identifying needsMy role as a teacher when identifying pupil’s needs would entail recognising boundaries
which hinder learning. These may include a specific learning difficulty egg Dyslexia. Identifying students learning styles would also ensure that individuals gain full potential from their learning activities.The responsibility of my role would involve working in line with my organisations policy's and procedures.
Also providing learners with appropriate advice and information, whilst maintaining learner’s confidentiality.Boundaries encountered with my role may be learners not communicating a specific need.Planning learningMy role as a teacher will be to plan a lesson, including what will be taught and when. Also preparing appropriate teaching and learning resources.I would take on the responsibility of creating a safe, accessible and stimulating environment for my learners. I would create suitable plans after identifying my learner’s needs, obtaining appropriate resources and materials to support my plans and the learners. Differentiated plans
would accommodate the differing needs of the learners, with clear and achievable aims for all learners.Boundaries when planning may arise due to the requirements of the awarding body, or legal obligations egg health and safety guidelines. Work should be planned to meet all learning objectives within the allocated timescale.Enabling learningTo enable learning, my role would involve communicating appropriately and effectively with my learners. Teaching in an engaging manner, and delivering plans that are inclusive to the needs of learners within the group. My responsibility as a teacher would involve acting and speaking in a professional manner. To provide learners with clear aims and objectives. The activities should be appropriate to the learners differing needs. To use my own qualification (NNEB Diploma in Nursery Nursing), experience, and knowledge to support learners in their journey. It would be my responsibility to keep learners safe physically and emotionally. Ensuring risk assessments are carried out on the learning environment and potential resources. I would establish an environment to learn in that was fair, safeguarding learners from prejudice from the organisation or other learners.
Arrangements would be made to work in line with health and safety requirements, diversity and equality legalisation, and codes of practise laid out by the organisation.Boundaries encountered when enabling learning may include the abilities of the learners e.g. a learner with a specific learning difficulty. Disruptive learners or learners with low motivation levels may have an impact on their peers, and their ability to learn within that environment. Bad organisational skills from the teacher may lead to bad planning and then delivery of the lesson. Assessing learningAs a teacher I would assess progress, following awarding organisations and external body requirements. My responsibilities would comprise of assessing and returning work within the agreed time, and throughout the duration of the course. Giving constructive feedback, and support to the learners. Whilst using a variety of assessment methods and maintaining confidentiality. The assessment methods should be fair and relevant to the course material. It should also be recorded with the guidelines of the organisation.Boundaries that may occur when
assessing learning might include; not enough evidence from the learners to make a decision, and making decisions that aren't biased or unfair with judgements. Assessment's that are fair and are relevant to the course material.Quality, Assurance and EvaluationDuring my role as a teacher I would evaluate how well the programme was delivered, and in doing so improve the teaching and learning process.My responsibility would be to encourage learner development, and progression to enable learners to reach their full potential. To encourage ongoing feedback from learners and others. At the end of each session, to evaluate and make amendments if necessary. Improving the plan if used again. I would actively seek out, to maintain my own professional development within my own subject area, ensuring my lessons are current. Boundaries during evaluation may occur due to awarding bodies demands egg internal and external verifications.|
