Peers who are closes to the little girls both consciously and unconsciously convey and enhance appearance related norms through direct and indirect interactions. Society tells them that they must be thin or muscular to be accepted, loved and successful in life, which tend to affect their eating habits and the way they view their body, they are scared to be mocked at or called ugly. Girl try to compare themselves with their friend when it comes to material things, like cloths, hair etc. Girls are using social media to get feedback in areas that they are been told by the culture that they need to express or work on. Many girls post or send provocative images because they are growing up in a culture that places a lot of values in their sexuality. Many girls always trying to fit in with their friend by imitating their friends, how they dress, act, and carry themselves. They feel ashamed of themselves and who they are, so they try to impress their friend.
Many parents attribute confidence building as to the reason they teach and train their daughters to act and dress up like women even at young age.
