Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night Analysis
The type of audience poets write for is an audience that he or she can give hope to or inspire

them to do something great. For example: in the poem“Do not go gentle into that good

night” Dylan Thomas says that “ Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,And learn, too

late, they grieved it on its way, Do not go gentle into that good night. This shows that people can

try and do the impossible and the sky was the limit but learned that too late and now they

live a life of regret and misery but this also shows that Thomas believes that you should live

your life now instead of just letting it pass you by. I know that because Thomas also said that

“Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight Blind eyes could blaze like

because “poet Roque Dalton” it was said that ”In the summer of 1965, he returned to El Salvador

to continue his political work. Two months after his arrival, he was arrested, tortured, and again

sentenced to execution. This shows me that his plan for reconciliation didn’t really go as plan yes

this guy was an inspiration and he won many awards for his art but the fact is art is not action a

few words on a paper that has a nice tune will mean a lot to some but some people are blinded by

this idea that whatever someone says who has power and wealth is right and they saw him as an

outlaw that needed to be eliminated so he does not plague his beliefs on their society. Why?

The same reason why they killed people who didn’t believe the world was flat or burned to death

because he or she was a witch, everyone wants to be right even when they are clearly wrong.

So overall poets writing can only effect opened minded people not close minded people

His murders were never found. Some say that his assassination had to do with the “right-wing death squads” (Valdes, Delcid, & Castillo, 2015). Regardless of the reasons, thousands of people came together to say their last goodbyes outside the cathedral in El Salvador. Since his death, he has won a Nobel Peace Prize, had two movies made about him, and has been beatified. He is that much closer to becoming a…

This experiment involves the synthesis of compounds originating from pure solid copper. By applying solubility rules and the reactive properties of substances, many compounds which would otherwise be costly to extract from nature are able to be synthesized in the laboratory. Laboratory synthesized may sometimes be more economical than natural extraction, however it poses its own problems with the amount of substance that is actually yielded from the production reactions (Stathopulos, 2007). Almost no reaction has 100% yield, thus scientists inadvertently produce undesired products that must be filtered or decanted out of solution (Petrucci et al, 2007). Beginning with pure copper wire, this experiment will exhibit its transformation to substances including Cu(NO3)2, Cu(OH)2, CuO, CuSO4 . 5H2O and finally returning to pure copper (Cu). The experiment objective is to successfully complete these conversions and then calculate the percentage of recovered copper using the initial and final mass data obtained.…

Readers and Writers One common myth about writing is that everything comes naturally to the writer, everything in literature comes easily and instinctually. However, in the article, “The Inspired Writer vs. The Real Writer” by Sarah Allen claims that there is no such thing as the “Inspired Writer”, it is simply a figure that writing comes easily to, a figure that doesn't truly exist, but the real writer comes with real struggles as well. In the article, “What is Academic Writing?” by L. Lennie Irvin states the meaning of what real academic writing is.…

“A Night Divided” is a historical nonfiction story. It is set in 1961, when East and West Berlin were separated by the Berlin Wall. Because of the Cold War and the East’s poverty, everyone was shifting over to West Berlin. East Berlin GDR (German Democratic Republic) didn’t like losing their population, so they built a wall to keep people in. Many people tried to escape from the East Side, but few made it. This book is the story of a separated family that had the courage, and bravery to find each other again.…

Your audience is the person or people who will read what you write. Whenever you write, always have at least one real person in mind as a reader. Think about what that person already knows and what he or she will need to know to understand your main idea. In most cases, assume that readers will know only what you write about your topic and main point. Your writing may be very different for two different audiences. Read the…

Due to the civil war Vega left because there was so much killing happening and then groups started to form and then it was just causing more and more of a disaster than it was already was. I think this is significant because it shows people how the Salvadoran Civil War has impacted the people during the time of the war and after and how it has inspired some people to even write books about such as “Revulsion: Thomas Bernhard in San Salvador” by Horacio Castellanos Moya. The civil war also influenced the make of this story because they relate to the civil war due to how Vega had to flee the country and moved to Canada. As Vega says in the story about how he only came back to his country El Salvador was because his mother had passed away “I came because my mother died, Moya, the death of my mother is the only reason I felt obliged to returned…” (Moya, 7) Vega didn’t ever want to come back to El Salvador ever he fled the country because of the Civil War that had happen but the only thought he would get was that if his mother were to die soon then that is when he would have to come back into the country. Not only has the Civil War has affected the story this but as well as in people getting jobs where they see many people during their work but before they got this job they were involved a lot during the Civil War by either killing people or doing other…

Many times independent minds have been kept controlled by the government, for fear of losing its power. King Creon in Antigone showed this type of greed and paranoia. Determined people with strong beliefs want to create change, which is why they are not very well liked in many cases. Society should allow these people to speak their minds because society often needs…

The purpose of “Acquainted with the Night” is to show the loneliness one can have going through depression. Almost feeling like everything is sad, even objects or things that don't have feelings. This poem illustrates someone sad and lonely one night walking down the street “unwilling to explain.” The title of this poem holds significance because “acquainted” means to know someone, whereas this piece is about not having anyone and being lonely. On the other hand, “ Out, Out--” was written to portray a story about a young boy cutting wood with his father when his sister calls him in for dinner, he gets excited and jumps up and down and almost cuts his hand off completely with a buzz saw. When the doctor came to help and amputate his hand, the…

For me personally, selecting an audience can be somewhat a confusing and daunting task. While writing, I find that there can be purpose for a variety of readers. Trimming it down to a select few (my audience) is sometimes hard to do. I really have to sit back and examine the message I am trying to get across, and determine who really needs to read what I have to present, and who will benefit the most from it. This also works its way into including logos, ethos and…

Go back to XIV century when poets had to look at naked women with snow-white skin, dark blue eyes and burning red curls to produce poems, more captivating than the sunrise. Go back to when writers were considered drunk heads, with nothing to lose and nothing to gain. The only solace they had was to dress their scars in words, convey rage in a paragraph and hide the grief behind the pages.…
