Does The One Ring Take Over The Mind
Does the One Ring over time take over your mind? Yes. I think that this One Ring shall corrupt any mind it comes into contact to over a long period of time, except the creator. I would say that this One Ring is the most powerful ring of them all. Here is why I believe this corrupted ring can control anyone who possesses it.
Lord Sauron's One Ring was produced by Sauron himself which then he centered his own energy into to give him the ability to enslave other Ring of Power wielders. This ring gradually adulterates the brain of the powerless and old. The ring itself became mixed up in the waterway Anduin after Isildur cut it off King Sauron's hand in the Siege of Barad-Dur. It was lost for around 2 ½ centuries until Deagol and Smeagol discovered it, yet then Smeagol executed Deagol and went to take cover in the Misty Mountains for five hundred years.

Bilbo goes through Misty Mountains investigating, however then finds the One Ring. While lifting it up he hears talking from the old Smeagol and leaves. After his arrival to Hobbiton he keeps the ring which gives him the force of maturing gradually and invisibility. On his 111th birthday he at long last was prepared to leave Hobbiton, so when he was giving his speech he secretly slipped on the ring and vanished. While the group was going crazy with where Bilbo went, he was quietly advancing toward his home. At his home he is confronted by Gandalf which then gets some answers concerning the ring and sees that it is assuming control of Bilbo. Gandalf then stands up to Bilbo about the ring and lets him know he ought to abandon it with the things he is giving to Frodo. Bilbo answers with a gnarl and murmurs ‘It is mine, I tell you. My own. My Precious. Yes, my Precious,’ however then snaps out and gives the ring to Gandalf for Frodo. Bilbo then leaves

In the beginning Bilbo is timid, comfortable, and complacent in his secure little hole at Bag End. When Gandalf talks him into embarking on the quest with Thorin’s dwarves, Bilbo becomes so frightened that he faints. As the novel continues Bilbo triumphs over dangers and adversaries, realizing he had courage and strength within him the whole time. Bilbo overcomes many challenges like Confronting the trolls, escaping with Gollum’s ring, slaying the spider, rescuing the dwarves in Mirkwood, and speaking face-to-face with the great dragon Smaug, all of this is proving he is a true hero. Bilbo realizing that he is indeed a hero is a main theme of The…

Bilbo has now become a distinct and enriched version of himself. Even though Bilbo did heroic actions they did not extensively change who Bilbo was in the beginning of the book. Bilbo now still has some of his tookish qualities but he is no longer arrogant nor cauchy. Bilbo never really acknowledged his special qualities until he found the ring. When these qualities came into play he stayed humbled. He never bragged about how special he has become. “If you have a pipe about you sit down and have a fill of mine! There's no hurry, we have all the day before of us!” Restating this quote from chapter 1 on page 4 explains the kind of life Bilbo lived before he contributed with experiences with the ring. “My dear Bard!” Squeaked Bilbo. “Don't be so hasty! I never met such suspicious folk! I am merely trying to avoid trouble for all concerned.” This quote from chapter 6 on page 273 shows how Bilbo has elaborated from the beginning of the book because Bilbo is now no longer looking for trouble. He is looking at the positive and what he can do better. He is trying to make change happen. Although some people may argue that Bilbo is not making a difference and he is not becoming a new and better person than he used to…

In support of this, in the novel, it states how Bilbo kept a secret from Thorin of the Arkenstone he had stolen. He sneakily traded with Bard, knowing that Thorin was not a fan of sharing gold, which Bilbo felt that him and the dwarves deserved. He did not know the Battle of Five Armies would become a result of his sly moves (Tolkien). This highlights how Bilbo made a sacrifice and put his friendship on the line with this betrayal and lie. Bilbo develops as a hero because he believes of the greater good and depends on his own morals, trying his best to avoid conflict. This time, instead of relying on his usual group, like he would have, he ignores the view of others and stands up for himself and his morals. Middle Earth was impacted by his actions since Bilbo now uses his traits of being a burglar in hand and changes himself with strategies. Overall, Baggins was in a difficult position, but the way he was able to escape shows how he has improved from old, scared, Hobbit-Hole Bilbo to a one of a kind…

“Soon the goblins had a ring of smoke and flame all round the dwarves, a ring which they kept from spreading outwards; but it closed slowly until the running fire was licking the fuel piled under the trees. Smoke was in Bilbo’s eyes, he could feel the heat of the flames( even though he was so high up in the trees); and through the reek he could see the goblins dancing round and round in a circle like people round a midsummer bonfire. Outside the ring of dancing warriors stood the wolves at a respectful distance watching and waiting to devour the first person that dropped dead out of the treetops. Bilbo could hear the goblins beginning a horrible song, and with that the flames were under Gandalf the wizards tree. In a moment it caught the others and went up like a rocket, when it was just beneath Bilbo’s, he closed his eyes, ready to die when...” As it can be seen Biblo and company were in many tight spots throughout this adventure, and he could not have done it all on his own. That is where Bilbo had to use the three themes of luck, courage and good sense to overcome evil and stay alive.…
