How the crocodile got its long tail

A long long time ago, there was a lazy crocodile. Its tail was as short as a hotdog sausage. It only eats, drinks and sleeps all day long under the tree that near the water.

One day, a man was walking down a hill, he saw a crocodile eating an apple. He asked “Can I have some of your apple please?” The crocodile didn’t say anything, instead the crocodile threw the apple away and said “Yum!” And it gobbled up the man in two bites. After a while, it drifted off to sleep. The next day, the crocodile’s tummy was rumbling. A dog was carrying a stick and trying to find somebody to play with. Suddenly, the crocodile said “Yum!” behind the dog and gobbled it up without chewing.

In the evening, it held some coconuts in the air, stood on its feet, and pretended to be a coconut tree. Two children came past and saw the coconut tree so they climbed up. When the children were near the top, the crocodile immediately dropped the coconuts and grabbed the two children. It only said “Yum!” and no more. The crocodile stuffed them in its mouth and spat out the bones in the end. Then it drank 10 litres of water and went to sleep.

Everyday, when it saw an animal, it would say “Yum!” and ate it as quickly as possible. In a week, he ate: a lion, a rabbit, a tiger and many many more. One afternoon, an elephant was eating leaves from a tree which the crocodile owned it. The crocodile was about to eat the elephant, but the elephant quickly used its trunk and grabbed the crocodile’s tail and swung it as quickly as it can then it let go of it. The crocodile flew up to the sun and came back with a very long tail because the elephant stretched it. And that’s how the crocodile got its long tail!

One misty morning in 2003, deep under the cover of the largest subtropical wilderness in the United States, a group of tourists set out for a day of exploration in the Everglades. They hoped to see some of the diverse and unique species that the Everglades are famous for, and maybe snap a few cool pictures to show their friends. They could never have anticipated what they would actually discover. A short way into their trek, the party was drawn to a noisy struggle nearby. They followed their ears to a duel between an alligator and a huge Burmese Python. The alligator clamped his jaws around the snake. The snake wrapped its body around the alligator. The tourists wasted no time in whipping out their camera phones or video cameras, and within days the video was viral. Millions were enthralled by the odd match-up, but to scientists, it was a sign of what could be a very serious problem.…

He bobs his massive head up and down and moves his weight from one side to the other. His trunk reaches toward a blue plastic toy that is there for him to play with. Billy lumbers over to another part of the yard--his massive gray body, wrinkled skin and fanlike ears, looking irresistible. Just as we having a whale of our time, a scared ‘mew’ and then a crowd of raucous laughter aroused our attention. We quickly alighted from our bikes and then edged nearer and nearer to the direction where the laughter was coming from. Hiding behind a clump of bushes, we peered carefully through the gaps between the leaves to see what had happened. To our utter horror, three teenage boys formed a small circle around a white and brown splotched cat and each was armed with several rubber bands and a packet of soft drink. Then, one of the boys let loose a rubber band striking the cat near the eye, it retreated and the boy behind it let…
