America promises many dreams. Dreams of riches, freedom and even tranquility. But is our promise fulfilled? The answer is no. We are promised dreams that, in the end, are proven to be non-existent. The reality is, our dreams are impossible and elusive. All dreams are proven to be impossible. In the book, “Of Mice and Men”, George says, “I think I knowed from the very first. I think we’d never do her.” “Her” is the dream the George and Lennie shared. George said that he never actually believed in the dream, he just got so used to repeating it to himself. In the book “Of Mice and Men”, before the action of the story begins, circumstances have robbed most of the characters of these wishes. Curley’s Wife explained to Lennie that she “wanted to
