PART ONE: FOREWORD
Listening is one of the most important skills in communication. Without it, communication will be useless and be meaningless at the same time. In some cases, listening is not enough when it comes to academics and formal business meetings or any other means of communication where gathering of information is most needed. Purposeful listening is basically listening with a purpose, giving someone’s undivided attention to the sender of the message. Purposeful listening helps people to understand more the meaning of the message or the information given by the sender. Being fully present and giving undivided attention to what others are really saying can transform our understanding of other people, particularly in difficult situations. Purposeful listening is listening while learning.
