The range of axis II should be broadened to encompass the range of personality pathology seen in clinical practice. Personality pathology is difficult to measure. Current instruments have problems with validity and rely on a direct-question format that may be inappropriate for the assessment of personality. In addition, they are designed specifically to address current DSM-IV categories and criteria, which limit their utility in making meaningful revisions of those criteria. These problems suggest the need for consideration of alternative approaches to assessing and revising axis…
Firstly, I keen to proceed with my psychotherapy studying, which has been started in Russia in 1999. I was studying Dance Movement Therapy in the Moscow Institute of Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis for two years as my 3-years Postgraduate Diploma course. That’s shame, I haven’t finished the last year as I moved to England. I’m really interesting to study Person Centred Approach as I saw the big difference between Psychodynamic approach and Counselling, when I’ve done my Level 2 ABC Certificate in Counselling Concepts. Secondly, I want to do this course to get new skills in Counselling and also to manage my own feelings, relationship, and to know more about myself. And finally, I would like to socialise with people who share my interests.…
In this week’s review, we seek to gain an understanding of what an organic church model looks like. Cole is the author of our text, Church 3.0 and within this book, he points out how church today has not changed much since the early days and that we in our day and culture need to make some much desired changes as to how we do church. Cole tells us that how we are doing church today in the modern society just isn’t working. We have an abundance of mega churches that attract people to them, but, the truth is, they are just one in a big crowd of people. So, Cole provides us with Church 3.0, an organic, missional way to do and be the church.…
Approximately 6 six years ago, I was caught in a difficult situation involving a possible Vulnerable Adult case. As the advocate for my consumer, I felt obligated to report the suspicions that were evident. As a supervisor, I must follow protocol and the chain-of-command in the organization. -I believe that it would be a great bumper sticker because wearing a seatbelt is something that is very important to do while driving. Most times people forget or simply hate wearing them because they feel uncomfortable. But a simple reminder of this would help many people avoid any disastrous situation. By wearing a seat belt a person can avoid getting a ticket. It could also lessen the force that could be applied to you if you were to have an accident while on the road. Wearing a seatbelt is something that is always found on a written test exam for getting your license. These are the reasons why I believe that a “KEEP CALM and FASTEN YOUR SEATBELT!” would be a great bumper sticker to have.…

On April 22, 2017, five classmates and I took part volunteering at the 9Health Fair. Before showing up we all were e-mailed instructions on the Health fair protocols for taking blood pressure (BP), performing Body Mass index (BMI) and pulse oximetry (02 sat). When arriving we all kind of gravitated to a station. I ended up working with Allie and Karen in the BP/02 sat Station. When the fair began, it seemed that we were pretty slow, so I volunteered to stand by the blood draw station informing patients where our BP/O2 Sat stations was located. While working the line trying to get customers to our station, I heard a thump. One of the people who had their blood drawn, stood up and then fell straight back to the ground. I watch as this…
I plan to study interpersonal practice as my practice method concentration and mental health as my practice area. My ultimate goal is to work in a crisis setting, specifically with suicidal individuals. Studying interpersonal practice and mental health will help me understand, interact, and better serve suicidal individuals in inpatient and crisis settings. The course Mental Health and Mental Disorders in Adulthood will give me a better understanding of just that. I would like to focus on adults, and most classes I have encountered so far are focused on children, so this course will give me a heightened understanding. Social Work Practice in Mental Health is exactly what I need, so I know how to promote mental health, work with mental illness, and provide treatment services. The field placement work will provide me with the hands-on learning that I will need in my future career. By understanding social work in a broad context, I will develop better communication and understanding skills that will benefit the individual I am directly working with. Attending the University of Michigan gives me the opportunity to learn from many extremely knowledgeable individuals in all aspects of social work, which can only positively enhance my future outcome as a social…
