Preparedness Plan Final
This paper is focused on the seismic hazard analysis, structural safety quiz of my household, and preparedness plan. The seismic hazard analysis is composed of fault rupture, ground shaking intensity, landslide potential, liquefaction susceptibility, and if there is a body of water nearby. Next is the structural safety quiz which consists of five to six questions about how concerned one should be about a home and a score is given at the end of the quiz for my house. Finally, the preparedness plan contains seven steps on how to be prepared when an earthquake occurs.

How to be safe during an earthquake, how to be prepared after an event of an earthquake, and where to meet after an earthquake. The most important part of this step would be during an earthquake to stop whatever we are doing and quickly cover ourselves under a table or stand under the door frame. After an earthquake has occurred, keeping a flashlight, jacket and shoes next to my bed is vital to my preparedness. In case if all family members are not present and the power goes out during an earthquake, we have all agreed to at my parents’ house. After the earthquake has come to an end, safety always comes first, making sure the house is safe such as checking if there are gas leaks and check for faulty electrical wiring. Checking the food supply level for the next couple of days make sure to have enough canned food and snacks especially a lot of water.
Implementation Plan
I am fully aware that the bay area is at a high potential for having an earthquake at any given moment. Currently some of the items in the steps have been completed, but many of the items that are yet to be completed will definitely be done. I have contacted my family members to tell them about how important having a preparedness plan is and I have shared it with them. I plan on completing the items I am missing and hope to share it with others to inspire them and inform how important it is to have a preparedness plan.
