Eddy the Elephant was a very young and very eccentric Elephant. He was wild, fast paced, and crazy. He was tough; he did not think he was afraid of anything! No Cheetah, Lion, or Tiger could scare him. Until one day Eddy had to go to the doctor. This terrified tough Eddy. Maybe it was the needles, or maybe it was the sickness in the air. However, something sure did make Eddy afraid of the doctor.
One beautiful day Eddy and his friends Kody Kangaroo, and Fred Flamingo were out wondering the fields. Kody and Fred liked to stop and admire all of the other strange, funny, and mean looking animals. Eddy on the other hand found all of that boring and liked to race and jump around.
“Come look at these cool flowers Eddy!” Kody said. “No thanks,” replied Eddy entertaining himself chasing a butterfly. “Let’s race guys!” suggested Eddy. “We are to tired Eddy, why don’t you just come and look at the flowers with us? You can smell them too! They smell wonderful.” Fred said.
“Why would you want to smell stupid flowers when you could race, or wrestle, or something?” said Eddy. “Haven’t you ever heard the saying ‘sometimes you need to stop and smell the roses?’” Kody said softly not meaning for Eddy to take it literally.
“Fine! If you want me to smell roses so bad I will,” Eddy said harshly. Eddy spied around until he spotted a rose bush at the bottom of a small hill. “I’ll add some fun to it and jump into it first!” Eddy said as he took off toward the hill. “Eddy! Don’t! Roses have thorns!” Fred yelled. Sadly, Eddy was too far away and didn’t hear him.
Slam! Eddy landed trunk first into the rose bush. “Eddy!” the friends screamed as they ran over to check on him. When they got there Eddy was slowly sliding out of the bush, thorns piercing his skin everywhere. After maneuvering through the bush, careful not to hit any more thorns, he turned to his friends with a look a severe pain in his face. Trying so hard not to
