Edgar Allan Poe was officially born in Boston, Massachusetts he was orphaned young when his mother, Elizabeth Arnold Poe, died shortly on December 8, 1811 after his father abandoned the family and he was left alone at age two. In sequence, two days later Poe was taken in by Frances and John Allan however they never officially adopted him. Moreover, Frances and John Allan were very prominent and wealthy merchants of the town. Finally, Poe was elated because of his courteous and wealthy family, but he knew something was missing from his life, which was love. Poe spent the most important and impressionistic times of his life – years that passed him from childhood to adolescence and to his transition of adulthood.
