An Expectant Mother Raped By Doctor.

Summary- The Chicago Tribune tells the story of an expectant mother was raped by her

longtime gynecologist in his office. The mother is scared that she will lost her unborn baby. The

former physician, Bruce Slyvester Smith, was charged in 2002 for a rape of another patient as

well. The Tribune review found at least sixteen other physicians were registerd sex offenders and none of their licenses have been revoked.

Reaction- The licensing of these physicians and professionals should be taken seriously. This

physician had been charged in 2002 for a previous rape, and never had his license revoked.

Instead, the physician was still practicing in an area such as gynecology. I think this is a terrible

outlook on healthcare. How can people trust their physicians and put their healthcare in their

hands with such criminals. The justice system regarding sexual offenders needs to step up and

start really cracking down on these kind of crimes.

Organic whole milk provides best heart-health benefits

Summary- The LA Times explains that scientists have looked at over hundred samples of milk,

and have found that organic whole milk offered more of the fatty acids good for the heart, rather than conventional milk. The study found that the organic milk had 25% less omega-6 fatty acids

and 62% more omega-3 fatty acids than conventional milk. The organic milk also had high

concentrations of the individual types of omega-3 fatty acids.

Reaction- There also have been numerous studies on dairy products to very significant increases

in certain types of cancers. Cows milk is notorious for not changing your cholesterol numbers

while it lines your arteries with saturated fat clogging deposits. Humans are not supposed to be

drinking cows

Unfortunately the doctor, who delivered her baby girl, by using forceps against the young couple’s wishes, caused unfixable injuries to the newborn. The couple puts blame for the death of their five-day old baby girl, Olivia Coats. However even though she requested to have a C- section, due to the size of the baby, Dr. George T. Backardjiev shut the idea down. Dr. Backardjiev told Rachel that it would leave a scar afterwards. He ended up using the forceps to deliver her baby girl. Dr. Backardjiev struggled with the forceps, “he even put his foot on the bed” to try and pull the baby out. “Dr. Backardjiev was turning and twisting, and she would never come out, he put the forceps one way and the other; when he touched the top and the side of the skull, we heard a pop, like clay cracking in pottery and heard her skull crush.” The medical staff told the couple their baby was alive; then Olivia was quickly transferred to “Children’s Memorial Harmann Hospital” in Houston Texas, it was at that hospital that they were informed that their daughter had suffered several fractures to her skull and spine; then on January 2nd Olivia Coats died. Angie coats told ABC News “we’re not mad at the hospital, this not their fault. It is one man’s fault, we only want justice for Olivia; we want the person responsible, which is the doctor. We don’t want the hospital being shunned.” The parents plan to sue Dr. Backardjiev for the death of their baby girl. The hospital administration and independent medical staff leadership are all committed in taking all necessary actions in understanding why this happened. The Houston Chronicle reports that the parents of Olivia Coats started a campaign to ban the use of forceps during delivery called “The Olivia Law.” The couple also started a fundraiser on Go Fund Me to raise awareness about the use of forceps explaining how damaging they can be, so far the…

Since the birth of the human race, the consumption of milk has been a popular nutrient. Currently, cow’s milk is considered the most consumed in the entire United States. However, contrary to popular belief, cow’s milk is not a viable source to drink from. Although it may contain many vital ingredients that living organisms need to survive, it is riddled with hormones, antibiotics, pus, and even blood. Cow’s milk is not intended for the consumption of humans; cow’s milk is for cows. The milk from cows is also believed to directly influence the creation of cancer cells.…

    Drink Raw Milk

There are warnings and new research advising consumers to avoid raw milk and raw milk products. Indeed, I was surprised to read Nelson (2010) that, “Raw milk stands alone as the only food that has ever been outlawed, and its advocates point out that it took a constitutional amendment to ban alcohol,” (p. 3). Nonetheless, the movement seems to be gaining in popularity. The Oake Knoll Ayrshire farm in Foxborough, Massachusetts owned by the Lawton family is a perfect example of the momentum that the raw milk movement has gained. “Lawton figures that she has 200 weekly customers, versus just a handful two years ago,” (Gumpert, 2008). With the “organic” fresh products movement and the increased accessibility to farmer’s markets, consumers have become more aware of these alternatives. According to the president of the Weston A. Price Foundation, a foundation that stands strongly behind the raw milk movement, an estimated half a million Americans or more are consuming raw milk. There are many issues surrounding the raw milk versus pasteurized milk debate, but at this time I want to focus on the issue of choice.…

The website also states that you get the same stuff from organic milk in regular milk. “For one thing, it’s not any healthier. “An eight-ounce serving of regular milk offers the same nine essential nutrients—including calcium, vitamin D, and potassium—as a glass of organic milk,” Mangieri says.” So, people that say they drink organic milk because it’s healthier for you are not correct, it’s basically the same type of milk just the cows are feed differently. This is what I read that gave me that idea that the organic dairy cows are just fed differently than the regular milk cows. “Are fed only organic grains, free of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides; get at least 30 percent of their feed from pasture; aren’t treated with antibiotics, or with bovine growth hormone to increase milk production.” The website was talking about how organic dairy farms feed and treat their cows. In my opinion, that’s a good thing that they are being fed organic grains and not treated with growth hormones.…
