In the song El Aparecido, it talks about having been crucified. I believe he is talking about a revolutionary force being killed. Victor Jara used singing as a means of protest under the strict ruling of Pinochet. Victor Jara uses his passion as a platform. He uses his platform to vindicate the oppressed and give a voice to those who feel voiceless. He uses his art to relay a message to the people. On September 11, 1973, Victor Jara was taken into custody. They brand him to the Santiago boxing stadium where he was beaten, tortured.They taunted him and broke his hands so he could no longer play the guitar. There
