Abstract In this science project, I wanted to see which beverage will help you regain your energy and which beverage will help reduce fatigue problem after or during a sports activity. By finding out how to achieve these goals I will compare the quantity of electrolytes in a sports drink with the other beverages by measuring the nano siemans in each beverage by converting three different types of unites and using them in a equation to find out which one has more electrolytes to refill the ones you lose as you exercise or play a sport and to see if it any of the drinks can reduce fatigue. Before this experiment I …show more content…
Sports Drink and their effects on the human body during performances. Advertising the best drink is very easy. There are uncountable energy drinks. Your performance will differ due to what you drink like Gatorade or PowerAde. Gatorade is one of the best of sports drinks. Every athlete is seen drinking Gatorade to improve or help their performance in game. In these sports drinks they have electrolytes. Water is good to drink but it doesn’t electrolytes. To find out which drink has more electrolytes and which one has less. We need to take samples of the drinks that we will be using. The main two are Gatorade and Orange juice. Gatorade seems to give the user more energy during the chosen activity. In this project you will need to measure the amount of electrolytes in the drinks I will do this by using a multimeter. A multimeter is an electronic device that measures voltage, current, and resistance. This is the main and the most important object in our project. A good concentration of electrolytes in your blood is very healthy. The cells allow your nerves to send pulses. That’s how the cells communicate and get your body to move and react to things such as running or kicking a ball. We will need to control the disruption of the dissolved electrolytes by using a machine called homeostasis mechanism. This mechanism controls absorption, distribution, and excretion …show more content…
Placing the sensor in the orange juice and measure the current.
Rinsing the sensor in the tap water and then in all three distilled water bowls.
Record all data and measurements in the data table in my lab notebook.
Find the average of my results across the three measurements for each liquid.
To find the microamps i will convert microamps to amps by dividing by 1,000,000. Convert milliamps to amps by dividing by 1,000.
Results After the experiment my hypothesis was wrong. At the beginning I said that the orange juice will do the best for you after a match and I also stated that cranberry would do the worst out of all the beverages. But in the data the fresh lime juice did the best out of all the beverages. After I saw the lime juice on top of the Gatorade I wanted to find out why. Lemon lime has a very high vitamin C and I also found out that Gatorades first sport drink flavor was lemon lime. I had never knew that before this experiment. Also cranberry did not do the worst it was the 8th best beverage out of all the other 11
