Elf Play Analysis

The show Elf has been my first theater show ever and I thought it was a pretty amusing show. For example, the costumes of the actors did their job of what they wanted to portray with them. They were on point like Buddy’s elf costume and the other elves costumes matched their tops, shoes, and hats. Then as Buddy went to visit his father there was a whole different dress wear compare to his. They all had working, formal clothes with suit cases and all. Therefore, as when the transformation due to Buddy came it showed because he then wore a suit and some nice going out shoes. Although he also had a long thick sweater to show that it was a cold place. The cold interpretation of the place that was being held was great because they showed the actors
The actors used the props well and easily it seemed because, like as they threw some of the props around they all were able to have control over them. So this means that the props were built light weight for them to be able to have manipulate them more accurately which, is something really smart to do with objects that are going to be tossed around. Furthermore, the snow Styrofoam prop was really clever because it looked like real snow and it was a cheap way to create snow and still make it look spectacular. The sound that was used was on point for example, like when Buddy got the bells and started “ringing” them the sound matched the movements he made with them. Also another great example, was when Santa’s sleigh crashed in the city it was a fabulous job that both sound and lights working together because made the scene more dramatic. As when the next part of a scene would happen, I liked that the music changed according to the mood it was trying to portray. The scene shifts are one of the parts that I enjoyed most because they would do the next scene in a quick pace that you would hardly notice
