Candle in the Wind
Sir Elton Hercules John CBE (Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) born Reginald Kenneth Dwight on 25 March 1947 is an English singer-songwriter, composer, pianist, record producer, and occasional actor. He has worked with lyricist “Bernie Taupin” as his songwriter partner since 1967; they have collaborated on more than 30 albums to date. (Paragraph 1)
“Candle in the Wind” is a name of a song performed by Elton John and written by he and collaborator Bernie Taupin in 1972. The song was originally written as a tribute to Hollywood movie star Marilyn Monroe who died at the age of 36 in August 1962. Taupin had been inspired by the phrase “candle in the wind” when he heard someone use

I see this song as a massage from the writer to every human who lives in the face of the earth; means “good people are living inside of us no matter if they are dead or alive. Although they left our world; they also left actions, and memories.” There are too many candles live in the universe, we did not even know about them. They live in the dark but spread the light through the flame which dancing in the wind.
This song is one of the biggest hits in the history of music; it was one of the best-selling songs in three decades (1974, 1988, and 1997). People had an argument about the 1974 version, and 1997.
In 1973 the lyrics were written by Bernie Taupin as a tribute to Marilyn Monroe. Elton John wrote the music, in 1974 when album “Good bye yellow brick road” was produced and included “candle in the wind.” In fact Elton John had the feeling that Marilyn Monroe lived her life in a great pain and suffered a lot. When he chose to write the music for these lyrics, he was not trying to play on people’s emotions, he actually felt the sadness which any person will feel when he/she loses beloved one. I think It hurts so much more if that person we lost was generous, thoughtful, and helping others without

It is not only for any famous celebrity. It would affect anyone who lost his/her father, uncle, or any other beloved one. I think the words were very emotional. When I hear the music without the lyrics I feel like it was written from a lover to his partner. I am a classic romantic music fan myself. I would group “Candle in the Wind” with most emotional songs. While I read the “Candle in the wind” lyrics with no music I always remember this song “can I touch you there” by “Michael Bolton,” both songs give me that feeling of the need of someone; but for some reasons out of my hand we both cannot be

Steve says "I could of punched him in the nose." Gus denies not liking the "John/Taupin Compositions." He says that he was amazed by the ideas Elton and Bernie had but he says he didn't want to risk losing the project by looking "too" enthusiastic about the "John/Taupin Compositions." "So I was Johnnie Cool" Gus said. Gus Dudgeon agreed to produce the "John/Taupin Compositions." Steve Brown coordinated the compositions. So after the meeting the demo tapes were sent to Dick James music. Elton and Bernie were granted $12,000 for the project. An unknown sum for unknown musicians. The album was planned note-for-note, and the hired classical musicians would be an important part in the recording process. In 1980 Elton made a quote on this project. "All the notes were written down, even the rhythm notes," Elton said. "I had to play live with everything. Can you imagine? I mean, they all had these brilliant session musicians standing there... and I had to play live... It was a very, very disciplined album for me to make." The album was completed in Trident Studio sometimes in January 1970. An enraptured Dick James launched the final product April 10th, 1970. Meanwhile, in America, another record deal was made. Dick James Music tried to get an American license, Bell Records, interested in "Lady Samantha" and "Empty Sky." Bell Records only release "Lady Samantha" to no affect, but sometimes in 1970 the president of Uni Records, Russ Regan, was approached…

Firstly, there are several examples of Duffy implying a strong relationship of love and admiration between herself and her mother. For instance, this is conveyed when Duffy describes her mother’s polka dot dress as blowing around her legs, before referring to her as “Marilyn”. This immediately draws the audiences’s minds to the fifties, and the iconic image of the glamorous Marilyn Monroe with her polka dot dress blowing up. As well as helping the poem to get into the mood of this time period, comparing her mother to such a well-known and flamboyant figure shows the love and adoration that Duffy feels towards her mother, seeing her as someone who is just as beautiful as the famous film star, as well as a great role model. The same idea of admiration towards her mother is also demonstrated on several other occasions throughout the poem, for example in the phrase “in the ballroom, with the thousand eyes”. While this description could refer to the lights of a disco ball on the floor, it may also mean the many eyes of others, admiring Duffy’s perception of her mother: glamorous and attractive.…

Like James Baldwin said “only an artist can tell and only an artist have told, since we have heard of man, what it is like for anyone that gets this planet, to survive it. What it is like to die, or to have somebody die, what it is like to fear death, what is it like to fear, what it is like to love, what it is like to be glad.” Music expresses the pain, suffering, love and all sorts of emotions that we cannot express but just normal verbal means. Artists talk about the depressing topics that we are afraid to talk about and express our inner emotions for us and give us a sense of relief that someone else can relate to us. In the revelation of the narrator at the end of the story he realized that of all the things he been through that there is still light at the end of the tunnel because he still have his brother, they are surviving and living.…

The first line of the song reads, “O say can you see by the dawn’s early light? What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?” Translated in to today’s contemporary language, this means, “hey there, can you see by morning what was there before the sun set yesterday evening?” Frances Scott Key introduces the topic of this song by grabbing the reader’s attention. This first line of the song makes readers wonder what Key is referring to, making them want to read the poem on further. When Key mention’s the “dawn’s early light” he is referring to an early morning; a new day and a new beginning. The “twilight’s last gleaming” suggests a very special time of day; right before the sun is setting and there is a tiny streak of light that appears in the sky.…

John Lennon and Paul McCartney are two revolutionary artists who grew and developed a very beautiful and distinct style of song writing that shaped or rather influenced musicians apart of and after their generation. Besides a distinct difference in tonality between John and Paul, both musicians are very different from one another and it is this chemistry that is the very essence of The Beatle’s aura. It is important to understand this distinct difference in order to determine who the main contributor of the song was. John and Paul are two polar opposites when it comes to music and love.…
