When Emmitt was a kid he always wanted to be a professional football player. His family struggled financially and because of that Emmitt had to work more than one job. He was a very kind person because of how much he was willing to help out his grandma. He went to University of Florida and played football there. In his first game he had around 100 yards. He set many records while playing for the Gators. After high school in 1990 he went to the NFL and played for the Cowboys.
He played with the cowboys
for twelve years. He was very good at playing his position, running back, which really benefited the team. When he was on the team he helped the with three championships. In 1994 which was one of the years that they won he got MVP. He was the first player to get 1,000 yards or over eleven years in a row. In 2002 he broke Walter Payton's rushing record. He finished his last two years with the Arizona Cardinals.
Over Emmitt’s 14 seasons he had around 18,000 rushing yards. He also had 164 rushing touchdowns throughout his career. In 2006 he was on a television show called Dancing with the Stars. When he was on the show he beat Mario Lopez in the last round. He went back to that show again in 2012. He became the NFL all time rushing leader which was a huge accomplishment for him. Overall he was one of the greatest football players.
The book was one of my favorite books that I have ever read. Emmitt Smith was definitely a very interesting person to read about. It surprised me how he had that much fame but still was a very kind person. Will he win a championship in the NFL?
