Employee Portfolio: Motivation Action Plan

* Determine the motivational strategy or strategies that would likely be most appropriate for each of your three employees on basis of their individual characteristics. Indicate how you would leverage their employee evaluations to motivate each of the three employees. Describe one or more of the motivational theories and explain how the theories connect to each of your selected motivational strategies.

Team Member Name | Summary of Individual Characteristics | Motivational Strategy and Action Plan | Relevant Theory | Brandon Curley | Based on this employee’s results from the self-assessments, I have concluded the following: Employee is eager for advancement and shows potential. Finds purpose in their day to day activity. Very low negative emotion. Able to handle setbacks. Capable of understanding other’s emotions. Has a thorough decision making process. Unfortunately, employee prefers his own method to complete work. Tends to focus too much on one task. Risk of process conflict. | The following methods will be used to increase Brandon’s motivation: 1. Guide Brandon’s behavior through external feedback. Since Brandon has the desire to excel, he can benefit from positive reinforcement and identifying of discrepancies. 2. Specific and challenging goals can help to motivate him. Brandon can be requested to create contingency plans for setbacks in manufacturing. 3. Participate in the goal-setting process through open discussion. In order to make goals more personal. | The theory used to motivate Brandon is one of the Contemporary theories, known as the Goal-Setting theory. This theory states that the individual requires clearly defined goals that specific, challenging, and come with feedback on progress and discrepancies. The best way to motivate through this theory is by giving goals that tangible,
