Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies
One of favorite treats growing up and even today is homemade, chocolate chip cookies. Ever since my grandmother made them when I was younger, I could never resist the smell of the kitchen as the cookies were baking in the oven. As long as I had a tall glass of cold milk or even a cup of coffee and I’m ready for chocolate chip cookies anytime. Oftentimes when I was younger, my grandmother and I would make the cookies together, she would give me tips and I enjoyed learning from her.
For chocolate chip cookies, we used the popular Toll House cookie recipe found on the back of the bag of chocolate chips. We have found through the years that this recipe is our favorite. Therefore, the most important ingredient is the Toll House chocolate chips. This particular recipe is based on the twelve ounce package that we often used. Depending on how large of a batch we wanted to bake, we would use larger or multiple bags of chips, following the directions on the back, we may double or triple the amount of ingredients. But for this particular recipe I will use the twelve ounce bag recipe is our guideline.
We would start by preheating the oven to 375 degrees as per the instructions on the bag. Once we gathered all of the ingredients we would lay them out on the table. We also would make sure to have all the proper cooking utensils such as bowls for mixing, a mixer, a spatula, and small ice cream scooper for scooping the dough onto the baking sheet. We would use four baking sheets, two for prepping while the other two sheets are in the oven cooking. Once everything was gathered and the preparations are set, we began combining the ingredients to make our wonderful cookies.
