Endocrinology Career Paper

According to hormone.org, Endocrinology is the “study of medicine that relates to the endocrine system, which is the system that controls hormones”. An endocrinologist is a trained professional who: monitors , records and reports the wellness conditions of a patient, modifies patient treatment fields, prepares patients for examinations (gives them information and schedules appointments that lead up to the procedure), supervise and manage less-skilled endocrine surgeons, and “diagnose problems dealing with the: thyroid, adrenals, pituitary gland, ovaries, and testes” (mayo.edu). I have chosen to obtain a minor in endocrinology due to the rise in the career need and experience with these health care professionals. My mother receives chemotherapy from and endocrinology clinic called LabCorp. From the age of eight, I had become enthralled in this study and would like to continue research in the field.
