the characterization of Romeo, Juliet and Friar Laurence show how hasty decision making can cause significant consequences as seen throughout the plot development.
“Unreasonable haste is the direct road to error.” This quote, by Moliere conveys the notion that hasty decision making can result in dangerous situation in our lives. In his play
Romeo and Juliet,
William Shakespeare gives many example of hasty decisions and their consequences. It is based on the hasty decisions of Juliet, Friar Laurence, and Romeo that ends in tragic deaths. For example, Friar
Laurence accepts the marriage between Rome and Juliet without parents’ permission, Romeo falls in love with Juliet right away, and Juliet takes a potion when Friar Laurence gives the potion.

She marry to Romeo after one day she met Romeo. She is not thinking anything further than faking her death to evade from Verona. She was only thinking to leave Verona with her husband Romeo, but she concentrated so much on one thinking, she could not think about any other incidents. When Friar tells her that there is one way to solve all of the problem which faking death, Juliet did not think at all and took the potion, agreeing to Friar’s opinion. For other example, Juliet kills herself right after she saw Romeo is dead. She knew that Romeo drank the poison, so she looks for the poison in the bottle, but there was nothing left that she stabbed herself. (더 고쳐야 댐 ㅋㅋㅋ)
Moreover, Friar Laurence makes quick decisions and leads into a tragedy ending. On Monday,
