If an individual is qualified for the job, his or her background should not matter, or experience should not use as a basis as to who to give jobs or promotions too. As long as we do not show favoritism or prejudice to any individual, then we will be okay. It seems like as time goes by the military has gotten a lot smarter about dealing with Equal Opportunity and how to convey that message of equality down the line. Classes through "death by power point" is not always the best or the most interesting but it is a good start. Mainstream media has played a useful role in the advancement of Equal Opportunity. There are more documented cases of Equal Opportunity being recorded and processed. With that, I hope things are getting better, and it is a step in the right direction. I am glad that the army has taken a great amount of time in putting in an effort in stopping the violation of Equal Opportunity. I am sure bigger companies also have strategies on how to combat discrimination in the workplace because they cannot survive without one, with everything so being instant like social media. It only takes one person to post online, and public perception towards that company can
